Post In Absence and in Terror
OOC: This is an RP for all those that are still here. Gotta keep the RP section going and most of the people that are in most of them are gone for holidays. So here we go.

In Absence and in Terror
---Alone, and scared.

Aeraldi had been thinking. During the years since he had met many of his so called 'friends' he had done so little in his quest to save himself.
Damn those ignorant fools, why can't they understand how desperately I need to free myself? Aeraldi wondered, looking at his body. He could see the fractures appearing on his skin, between his scales, miniscule as they were. He sighed and looked back to the ground underneath him, the forests of Du Weldenvarden dissappearing quickly. Aeraldi was headed north, to the forgotten lands of ice.

I still think we should have let someone know where we are going. The lands of ice are treacharous places. You can get lost easily with no food or shelter. Aeraldi mentioned again.
Aeraldi growled in response. Aye, but we are a dragon that can breathe fire to warm ourselves. We can draw energy from any life, even our own body. Remember that. Aeraldi said.
I'd rather not. Aeraldi would have shuddered if he had the body. If it does come to that we go back agreed?
Aeraldi sighed and agreed. By now the forest was completely gone and the temperature had dropped significantly. They were close.

Aeraldi flew closer to the ground this morning, where it was slightly warmer. Occasionally he would put out a burst of flame which would trail the length of his body, warming it. Then the land gave way to the white of snow all of a sudden, the snow covering everything making it all look the same. At least there are still trees. He thought. Taking another breath to warm himself up with fire he thought he saw something out of the corner of his eye.
Did you see that? He asked.

No, what was it?
I'm not sure.
Aeraldi wasn't one to leave his guard down so he kept a sharper eye on his surroundings. He saw something yet again, nothing more than a flicker of movment that could have been slow falling from a tree but Aeraldi pointed out that it wasn't snowing. Aeraldi stopped flying forwards and perched on a tree. Nothing could have prepared him for the surprise coming from the ground. A large white wurm burst from the snow and knocked him to the ground. Aeraldi struggled to regain himself before a second attack came.

OOC: Yeah, Wurm is a worm but bigger and it sounds cooler. :D

OOC: I KNOW WHAT A WURM IS!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Sorry about that... I'll join with my new charry; she needs to get in on some action!

IC: Oh great! Look what you've gotten yourself into! Solarae thought, gazing at the expanse of white. She shivered; more sensitive to cold than most dragons. Even her color, fiery orange, was opposite to this lifeless place.

Solarae had set out on a mission of exploration. She had been flying near the northern parts of Du Weldenvarden, simply curious about the forest, when she had come across a small set of volcanoes. They had been small, and inactive, but she had been curious none-the-less. Solarae had found an entrance into a magma-tube beneath one, and had set off down it. She had had fun at first, going down side-tunnels to swim in the magma, but after several miles of heading down it, the tunnel behind her had collapsed. Solarae had tried to find another way out, but all of the side tunnels had led into magma chambers, which just led deeper underground. She had, after many hours of searching, come to another block. She had followed one of the side-tunnels, the only one that went upwards, and now found herself in a barren wasteland of cold.

Solarae sighed. Even she had limits. Coldness, ice, and snow was one of them. Suddenly, she heard the ground tremble. She darted back into the side-tunnel and saw an enormous creature slithering its way through her magma-tube. It had come from a tunnel that it had created, above the tube. Now, Solarae thought how lucky she was that she had found a way out before the wurm passed. She was a fierce fighter, but a tiny dragon trapped in a tunnel with a giant wurm? The odds were not good...

Solarae flew back out of the tunnels, and decided to head back south. Not long after, she saw the wurm burst out of the ground at least a half-mile south, near a stand of pines. Solarae roared when she saw a small black shape get knocked out of the air, looking suspiciously dragon-like.

Solarae let loose a massive blast of fire. Her flame was what made up for her small size. Not only did the half-mile of distance did not matter, it barely weakened the fire. Solarae flew as fast as she could to the spot after distracting the wurm, and saw that the black shape was indeed another of her kind. Need some help?! She shouted playfully, after seeing that the dragon was alright. She spat a powerful fireball at the wurm's head. It careened towards it and exploded on impact, infuriating the huge beast. Solarae laughed and darted up, out of its reach.

Post Re: In Absence and in Terror
You need to calm down, said Fenirexes. I won't, Mesaraih replied, looking up at his dragon fiercely. If you don't, then the next thing you know you'll be trapped in some barrent wasteland full of nothing but evil creatures that we won't be able to defeat. Even now, I don't know if we'll survive this stupid rambling around. Look where we are. In a land with nothing but ice and snow! Fenirexes was growling now. I don't care, Mesaraih said indifferently. Ever since realizing that he was nothing but a useless, friendless piece of trash, nothing mattered to him anymore. He had about what, one friend, whom he had not seen in a very long time? Any other friends he had weren't really his friends. He would be the first they would turn their backs on, so what was the use of having them? He had entered a great depression, but it was not a normal one, because it was also full of rage and bitterness. Then he heard a deep rumbling right below him. He looked down in time to see a large wurm blasting itself out of the ground. There was no time to react. The wurm crashed right on his stomach and threw him aside like a rag doll. Rage built up inside him once more. He drew his sword, knowing that it was already exploding with fire, and pointed it at the wurm. He slashed at it, but it moved to the side, so he grazed only the side of it, leaving an angrily burning cut. He charged at it again, but it bent low over the ground and wrapped itself around him, then threw him against a pool frozen over with ice. He knew that it was probably completely frozen from top to bottom, because the ice felt hard as it cut into his skin and he went deeper inside the it. He immediately jumped out. He thought he heard the sounds of another fight somewhere nearby, but he did not look around. The sound of other people paralyzed him, brought him back to a reality that he had to face. He was being stupid, a coward. He was running away from his problems, and making up stories of his own miseries. He had suffered a lot, true, but he still had friends he could count upon, and he wasn't going to give it all up just because he felt worthless, because he wasn't. If he could get angry enough to give good help to destroy a gigantic, evil dragon, then he could do a lot of other things. He looked down at the frozen pond. It had a hole of ice from where he had landed upon it. It glittered in the sunlight, winking at him. He wanted to look at it more, because he felt it held a lot of secrets, and he felt that it was the cause of his snap back to the world, but he heard Fenirexes battling the wurm and turned back to the battle. He saw that there were two of them now, trying to keep Fenirexes from taking off into the air. He was trying to shake them off, but with little success. He pointed his sword at them and sent powerful jets of fire at one of them. It fell back as the fire hit it, a black scorch mark right on its middle. Whether stomach, back, or side, he could not tell, but he didn't care. Fenirexes blasted the other worm with fire and sank his jaws onto its neck, or what seemed to be its neck, and ripped off the top part of the wurm's head. It fell to the ground with a dull thud and did not move. The other wurm, however, was stirring. It got up and started to move as fast as it could towards them, and Mesaraih jumped on Fenirexes' back and they took off into the air. Soon enough they saw the other two dragons, and Fenirexes dived towards them. He sent a thin but potent jet of flame towards one of the wurms. He did not land on the ground, and Mesaraih jumped off his back and ran towards the other wurm. Want some help? he asked the two small dragons.

Zeta was walking around an icy wasteland, quite lost. He had no idea where he was and which direction to go to to get back home. After the long ride with the mysterious dragon north, he had landed in a strange, meadowy land, and after a fight and a quick escape to these icy lands, he no longer knew which way was south, which way was home. He looked out towards the snowy expanse and came across a very odd sight. He saw a huge wurm with a scorch mark on its middle making its way towards three dragons, a man, and two other wurms furiously fighting. He sprinted towards where the major fight was happening and turned towards the burned wurm who was nearly upon them. He drew his sword and waited for it to reach him.

Reik walked through the snow-filled land, not feeling the biting cold at all with his anger. He had nearly had him this time, but thanks to that stupid dragon he had failed in killing Mesaraih, and to cap it all off he had had to escape that mind controlling dragon. But then his eyes lit up. Here was yet another chance presenting himself so clearly and invitingly. Mesaraih and his dragon, two other dragons, and an elf were fighting what appeared to be giant wurms. He looked at his hated rival before running to get to him and finally fulfill what must be done. But then he stopped. Why? Why did he have to do this? For some reason, the giant wurms Mesaraih, an elf, and three other dragons were fighting, brought back old memories. Instantly pain pierced his body, and he shook the thoughts from his mind. He couldn't resist another attack of pain like the last one he had faced after being merciful to his old best friend. He made his way towards him again, his sword drawn, but more slowly. Nobody seemed to notice him until he was right behind Mesaraih, who whipped around suddenly before Reik could do anything else. Reik sneered at him then raised his sword and started to attack. Mesaraih parried then started to attack himself, a pained look on his face that was at the same time angry.

OOC- wow, that was a little long.

Orphina had spent days being chased by the urgals, and it seemed they were still chasing her and she had no idea why. She rode Murdoc at a hard gallop but pulled up sharply as soon as she felt the biting cold and looked round at the pure white landscape.

Oh great, just what I need. A great big expanse of snow and ice. How am I going to ever stay warm out here? How will I keep Murdoc warm? She asked herself, as she scowled at the landscape, then half lost her grip on the reins as Murdoc reared, almost unseating her from the saddle.

"Whoa, ea....."Orphina had been about to soothe Murdoc when she saw the wurm.
"Ok, you can panic" she said in a tightly controlled voice, almost falling to the ground along with Murdoc as she turned him away from the wurm. Her heart sank as she saw the group of urgals that had been chasing her.
"Just great. I so do not need this right now." Orphina yelled at the urgals, the wurm and the world in general.

"Come get me then you worthless pieces of meat" She taunted the urgals, several of which raised their weapons and charged at her. Orphina urged Murdoc into a canter and seeing the dragon's out of the corner of her eyes, turned Murdoc towards them and hoped they were on the good side and wouldn't let the urgals kill her or Murdoc.

Aeraldi, after a moment of wondering what just happened, grinned and stuck at the wurm. Tearing at it's flesh with his claws and biting with his powerful jaws. This meat tastes better than I would have thought. Aeraldi thought after biting the wurm.
Make sure we keep this beast for food then. I'm sure it would taste better heated. Aeraldi couldn't deny that they were hungry.
My thoughts exactly. Lets... His thought was cut off as another dragon contacted him.
Need some help?!
Aeraldi growled angrily as he knew that he would have to share his meal, but he cheered up as more wurms burst forth the ground.
Fine! Just stay out of my way! Aeraldi said with a bloodlust in his voice. He thought he might as well enjoy the fight whilst he could, because he knew that the day was going to get worse. For him, it did get worse. Another dragon and rider appeared from what appeared to be nowhere asking if he needed help.
I don't need your help! Now stay out of my way! Anger mixed with his usual bloodlust creeped into his voice, his mood quickly deteriorated.

Easy! Aeraldi warned, If you keep trying to make enemies then it will be the whole world against us!
Like I should care! Aeraldi said to his other side only. His fury was evident in the way he was fighting, his claws swiping with unrelenting anger tearing anything they touched and seemed to make the ice melt. He breathed in a large breath while holding onto the skin of the wurm as it failed around in pain and breathed an extremely hot fire at the skin between his claws. Although he was small, he still did a considerable amount of damage as the wurm had its flesh vaporized till it's middle.
Let's taste the flesh now! He thought as he bit deeply into the burnt flesh. He had to admit it was the best thing he had tasted in a long time. Unfortunately for him he didn't get to enjoy the flavour for too long as the wurm began to flail around harder than ever.

Solarae laughed loudly at the black dragon's frustrated reply. Oh dear, it seems I've made you angry! she cried, still laughing, Well, I'm sorry to break it to you, but I'm staying. I just can't say no to a good fight! Solarae called, and grinned evilly. She noticed the dragon and rider move in. Hello! she called to them cheerfully, right before sticking her tail blade directly into one of the newly arrived wurm's throat. Blood gushed out of the wound and Solarae latched onto the back of the beast with her claws. It thrashed wildly, threatening to dislodge her, but Solarae held on, her legs splayed out for a better grip, her wings half unfurled in case she decided to fly off.

Solarae continued to stab at the creature with her tail, ripping with her teeth as well. Alright! Now I can feel the heat! Solarae thought excitedly. She opened her wings and launched herself off of the wurm's back. She laughed wildly again and landed recklessly on the ground near the wurm. It turned and, seeing its prey on the ground, roared triumphantly. Solarae smiled and closed her eyes. She reared up onto her hind legs, her head up and facing to the ground. Solarae felt the fire ripple through her, racing along her scales and casting her in a brilliant fiery light. She waited until it felt as if her very soul were igniting, and suddenly her eyes opened.

Solarae smiled evilly again, and let the fire loose. It engulfed the creature and swirled around it, burning and devouring the wurm's flesh. It seemed nearly impossible that so enormous a flame could come from so small a dragon, but it was indeed happening. It was as if she was the gateway to a land made entirely of flame, and was merely letting the fire into this world.

Solarae finally extinguished her fire and set herself back down on all fours. The fire that had been swirling around the creature seemed to disintegrate into the air in a cloud of dark smoke. Solarae smiled when she saw only a pile of ash left.

Solarae flapped into the air. She laughed as she spied the black dragon, whom she knew had enjoyed the taste of his enemy's blood from the way he had been fighting. Do not worry. I shall not destroy an enemy like that again, for I am hungry as well, she said playfully. In truth, she needed to build up her strength in order to completely annihilate an enemy like that. And it didn't work on enemies protected by magic.

She turned and noticed a new arrival: a girl who was fighting a band of urgals. She twirled about in the air for a moment before moving to assist the girl.

Solarae dove down to the fighting forms and landed on top of one of the monstrous urgals. She was smaller than the urgal, but ripped into it so viciously that it stood no chance. She darted up again before another could take a swing at her.

OOC: Fight scenes are just too fun to keep short... :D

Post Re: In Absence and in Terror
Despite his fight with Reik, he couldn't help but laugh at the black dragon's response. For some reason it seemed funny instead of insulting. If you want to fight so much, then you should fight us instead of those flabby beasts, Fenirexes said, chuckling slighlty. He sank his jaws on the wurms's neck, and didn't let go until he saw Mesaraih kick Reik to the ground and use the momentum to jump over to the wurm and stab it. Then he blasted flame from his sword inside the wurm, making it look like it was glowing from inside. The wurm fell to the floor, its wound blackened and glowing with embers. It did not get back up. Mesaraih was just able to dodge Reik's attack from behind, and they locked in duel once more. Fenirexes took a bite from the wurm. It tastes pretty good, he realized. Then he saw the new arrival and hurried over to help her. You take care of the Urgals and then you can help me with the wurm if I still haven't finished it off, he told the small dragon that had gone to fight the Urgals. He dived towards the wurm, and right before he sank his jaws in its neck he blasted it with fire, hoping to deal a lot of damage in a fast blow.

As the wurm closed in upon Zeta, he dove to the side then jumped on its neck. He plunged his sword in as deep as it would go then quickly withdrew it and jumped off it. Then he made spikes of ice from the snow around him and sent them flying at the wurm's neck, making a necklace of sharp spikes. The beast thrashed around as Zeta made a large ditch in the snow and the wurm fell in it, then covered it up. Then Zeta gathered all of his energy and readied it for his next attack. His sword rippled with lightning as he drew energy into it. It didn't take long for the worm to shoot up from the ditch and send snow flying everywhere. Zeta jumped up in the air before the wurm fell to the ground and stabbed it with his charged sword. The worm made one last, jolting twitch, then fell to the ground, electric currents rippling all over its body. It made a weak attempt to get back up, but then dropped down once more and did not move again. Zeta was on his knees, panting. He had used a lot of powerful magic, too fast, and it had robbed him of strength he hoped he wouldn't need too soon.

Reik attacked again and again, unable to believe that Mesaraih was still standing. With his new strength, he had expected Mesaraih to fall dead without too much trouble on his part, but apparently he wasn't the only one who had grown stronger. The blue flames from his sword and the red flames from Mesaraih's sword started to swirl around them, making a cage of some sort. They were fighting a battle of their own, trying to overheat each other. Reik felt a flicker of fear. The last time this had happened, the battle had been truly intense, and Mesaraih had won, nearly killing him. But then he reassured himself. Things were different now. There was no magic barrier from which Mesaraih could draw strength for another attack like the one he had done before. But he was still doubtful. The magic barrier had been Mesaraih's, so maybe he wouldn't really need it again. The ground at their feet started to heat up, melting the snow and making large puddles. Suddenly Mesaraih's sword was diving towards his stomach, and Reik moved back to avoid it, but slipped on a puddle. He fell to the ground and Mesaraih sword came flashing down to his neck. Instantly the flames disappeared. Of all the stupid things that could happen, he growled. "Leave now," came Mesaraih's soft voice. Reik did not hesitate. He let the shadows take him, and before he left laughed evilly. "I'll be back very soon."

OOC-man, this rp is fun!

OOC. I hope i didn't make it too chaotic by bringing the urgals in.

IC
Orphina tensed as the dragon approached, unsure of whether it would hurt her or the urgals, but she relaxed slightly as she saw it tear into an urgal that it had crashed into.
That's one ally at least, even if it does look a bit small to be of much use, she thought to herself as she charged at an urgal with her sword at the ready.

The urgal saw her come running at it and raised it's on sword, ready to knock her off of Murdoc. Orphina brought her sword down, and held it pointed towards the urgal as she got closer. The urgal got speared on the sword, it's face showing an expression of surprise as it's life drained away. Orphina kicked the urgal off her sword and turned Murdoc to charge at another urgal.

OOC: I really, really want to join!!! Hope you don't mind. I'll use my new dragon charry. He's started to learn how to talk,(barely) but since he's only a few weeks old, he's still very tiny and can't fly or breathe fire.
Oh and Aeraldi, 'tis your turn on the atlantis rpg....

IC:The worst thing that could've happened to Quetzalcoatl was a teleporting accident. And that is exactly what happened. Atlantis, the great City, was teleporting the opal dragon hatchling to the mainland with Dragonfly and Chris, when suddenly, something went wrong. Someone must've been using a powerful magic at that time, or teleporting as well, because suddenly, instead of being on the mainland, Quetzalcoatl was in a snowy wasteland.

He gave out a small squeak as a large round thing thrust its way past him, and attacked a human-like figure. What had he gotten himself into this time? It was very cold out and Quetzalcoatl gathered his wings to him, hoping his fur would help keep him warm. Since he was a white color, he could barely be seen. The only reason is that Quetzalcoatl was sparkling brightly like an opal stone in the sunlight.

The large round creature landed dead right next to Quetzalcoatl, and he jumped on the person fighting it. He shreiked and flapped his feathery wings, partially blinding the tall figure (to him) and leaped off again. What was that thing? Quetzalcoatl thought to himself. He started running away pretty fast for a dragon that was only about three feet long.

Unfortunately, Quetzalcoatl ran straight into a huge figure with two legs. He looked up with his large green eyes at the figure. It had horns, and a large, ugly face. Its hand came down and grabbed him around the neck. Quetzalcoatl squeak and flicked out his tail blade, stabbing the wrist of the large hand. It dropped Quetzalcoatl on his back, the stood over him. The figure drew a blade and pointed it at the dragon hatchling.

Post Re: In Absence and in Terror
OOC: redshurtugal08, glad you're having fun with this RP.
Orphina, it's fine. Works nicely.
Jayde, Really? My bad.

Aeraldi had one last wurm to fight off, the one that Mesaraih was fighting, before he could rest. Although, Aeraldi kept complaining that they should help the others before resting.
Well if you want me to then help me with this last wurm. Said Aeraldi breathing in for another burst of flames.

Aeraldi reluctantly agreed and breathed in unision with Aeraldi, even though he didn't have the body it would still increase his power.
A flame burst forth from Aeraldi, larger than either side could have ever made by themselves. The flame lapped across the final wurm, nearly encasing the entire thing. The wurm flailed around for a few moments before giving in to the intensity of the fire and falling over. To those that could look at Aeraldi, they would have seen a faint outline of a dragon 15 times the size with grey scales. When Aeraldi stopped the flames all that was left of the wurm was a long, overcooked sausage.
Might have overdone that one. He thought to himself.

It's been far too long since we have used that power. Hopefully, we will find a way here to stay in our original form.
I still cannot help but wonder what will happen to us after that happens, I enjoy my existance.
I don't think anything bad, when we do join it feels right.
Aeraldi agreed with his other side but knew this wasn't the right place to debate the point. He made a promise to help the others so help he would. Aeraldi ran across the ground, making note of the strange white-ish dragon that was smaller than he was, and jumping over it to attack the Urgal that was threatening it. His first thought after biting the Urgal was how bad it tasted compared to the Wurm. The only good thing was that the Urgal had fallen over backwards trying to push him off and dropped his sword in the snow. Aeraldi, however, didn't hold any mercy for the beast with two legs and mauled the Urgal with his claws.

Post Re: In Absence and in Terror
Solarae was enjoying herself. Each urgal that ran up to her was knocked away by an explosive fireball. It was greatly amusing to see them fly several feet in the air, fall, get back up, and promptly get knocked away again. She finally got tired of the game and killed both of the urgals that had been attacking her with a single shot of fire.

Solarae suddenly noticed a tiny dragon chick running around in fear. The black dragon knocked over and began attacking the urgal that had been about to lunge at it, so Solarae didn't rush over. Well that's an odd-looking little hatchling. Its wings are feathery, and it has pale fur! she thought curiously. Suddenly, she noticed a trio of urgals notice the hatchling and the occupied black dragon. Solarae hissed and moved to stand in front of the chick protectively. She blasted two away with her fire, and as the other barrelled down on them, she leapt up into the air and stuck her tail-blade deep into its chest. Solarae hissed at the hideous creature as it fell off of her blade and onto the ground.

The small orange dragon turned back to the hatchling. Stay away from this battle, little one. In fact, I'll take you out myself, Solarae said. She grasped the chick around its mid-section and deposited it next to a pine tree on top of a nearby hill. Luckily its pale color would help it blend in better, except for the shine of its fur. Why don't you rub mud into your fur, young one. It will help you blend in in case you run into any more trouble, and it will keep the wind off of you once it dries, Solarae said, trying to help.

Solarae didn't stay long, however. She flapped straight back to the others and began attacking the last few urgals.

Mesaraih quickly went over to help fight the Urgals. He was rather tired, but he wanted to help. As he attacked one of the Urgals, he noticed that the girl on the horse seemed rather familiar. As he looked at the Urgals again, a memory flashed through his mind, but he shook it away. He doubted it was her. He killed one of the Urgals the same way he had killed the last wurm, ending in a rather disgusting burst of flaming organs. He jumped towards the next one and was about to bring his sword down on it, but the Urgal raised its own sword and knocked him aside. Mesaraih looked up and saw the Urgal looming over him, its sword already coming down, an evil grin on its face. He rolled to the side quickly and narrowly missed the Urgal's attack, then thrust his own sword deep into its side. It roared in pain and shook him off. Mesaraih landed with both feet on the floor, then jumped back towards the Urgal. The Urgal blocked his attack and they both held their swords in contact, trying to overpower the other. Mesaraih let the Urgal start to gain advantage, then quickly moved his sword to the side and pointed his sword straight at the Urgal's chest. The Urgal stumbled forward and its chest got stabbed by Mesaraih's sword. He rapidly looked back at the girl. He was feeling rather strange at the moment.

Zeta stood up, taking deep breaths and trying to rest himself. He slowly walked over towards the battle with the Urgals. The walk didn't take long, but he felt much less tired after taking that brief break. He pounced on one of the Urgals and danced around it, yellow sparks flying from his sword as he attacked it.

Post Re: In Absence and in Terror
OOC: Alright, let me handle this.

Faefnir surged into the frigid northlands for the second time. He knew several of his close friends, and a few he didn't know so well, were being attacked by the White Wyrm. Having gone into the north before, he knew exactly how to deal with it. When his friends came in sight, he picked up his speed and contacted them in full. Everybody, I suggest you stand back. Then he angled his gigantic golden body upward, toward the beast's head. After hovering for a minute so it could lock onto him and turn its hideous head toward him, Faefnir went forward again and went down into its mouth, to the inside of the Wyrm. The walls were dripping with green acid and the esophagus wouldn't allow Faefnir a lot of room to maneuver--the slightest touch of the walls burned his vulnerable wings and scales. But, with the many flying lessons he got with Star, he was able to do it easily. As he leveled out in the belly of the beast, he charged up his fire breath and aimed for the outside wall. The Wyrm roared with pain then exploded in a mass of gore, with Faefnir speeding out away from the white gigantic mass. The Wyrm is impenetrable from the outside. You have to go inside to destroy it. Now, my real reason for coming here. I'm here to guide all of you out of the northlands. They are very dangerous, even to me. There is a Rider outpost up here. It's not far. Faefnir knew the dangerous discovery he, Star gazer, and Eriel found in that outpost, but it was the best place to survive the freezing weather. But I must warn you, there was... something... there the last time I went, so be careful and follow my lead.
