well i dont exactly know what the third dragon would be called (if it even gets a name ) But i think that Saphira would repopulate the dragon race. Or I hope so. It would be sad if she died.

well Galby wanted Saphira to mate with either Thorn or the green dragon remember? That's why he wanted to capture her. But even if she did, I don't think it would be enough to repopulate the whole dragon race. Unless there are dragons elsewhere, there would have to be a whole lot of inbreeding going on.

If there were dragons elsewhere in the world (say, across the ocean) and if Eragon found them first, not only could they repopulate the dragons race, but also they might help resist Galbatorix.

I also read a theory somewhere, possible on http://www.shurtugal.com, that there are wild dragons hidden in the Spine, because Galbatorix sent troops there, and they never returned. Maybe they could mate with the wild dragons. Again, just another suggestion.

This isnt necessarly true, it sed tht Eragon saw two dragons in the background of his vision, it didnt say two specific colours. i think Saphira will mate but i dnt think she will become mother to the race of dragons, 'the time of the dragon has past' some1 sed tht but i cnt remember who Saphira deserves a mate, not having one is troubling her and the idea tht Thorn is the only male at the moment sort of makes her seem likes she scared she will b the only good dragon, it's reali depressin to think about

It is possible that the riders knew where the dragons were. And went into hiding there. Then they wait untill the time is right and come out of hiding. I dont know just a thought. There is that unknown land past the hadarac desert.

Alligator gars are a mean type of fish that snare you fishing line and snatch the fish off your line once they're caught. And they've got teeth kinda like a gator's. (Sharp and pointy, hence they can snare your line.) Someone else might be able to give a better description though. I've never seen one up close. I do know this one guy that had one try to snap his line and it ended up snapping the pole.
