in brisingr page 647 eragon examines the sword of tamerleinm-the green sword,the rider and owner of the green swords name was arva,now because that name is so close to arya and her magic is green and she seems to be the likely canidate for the green dragon rider,this would make sence....But something else about the sword is that it was made for somebody who used the style cutting and slashing like roran...so im confused....tell me what u think?

It will probably be roran. Arya would be a good match to the blade. But roran seems to be the most likely. They always go to him every few chapters.

If u want evidence toward arts being the rider go to chapter deathwatch in the first book and read the first paragraph about eragon's vision-dream that says eragon sees a man and a woman with their arms interlocked boarding a boat and just before the vision ends he sees two dragons in the sky.

First the Riders magic is ALWAYS the same color as the Dragon because the magic is influenced by the Dragons persense(Brom's magic was blue)
Second NO Dwarf can become Rider because they were exculed from the Pact between the Elves and Dragons which later Humans were added.So yeah it is completely impossible.

It has got to be Arya and this part here proves it. also in the first book when he gets his prophecy from Angela about he being loved BY someone of royalty,(or how ever it is worded). and we know that's Arya because we find that she's a princess in Eldest. the two dragon's in the sky would not be flying together if they were not Arya and Eragon's dragons, because it would cause problems when they leave because either Saphira would want to stay or the other dragon would want to go, and it would impossible to separate them, because we already know how much Saphira is attached to together dragons, males at that.

yeah. but i can lean either way cause there is really no evidence to support either side, except that the dragon rider's so far have had magic that is the same color of their dragon.
And if someone is going to bring up Brom's sword blunter, that was just a reflection of the sword color, his magic color, and the fire. if you don't believe me get a blue, red, and orangish light and shine them in the same spot and tell me what color you get?

I think that we should use logic to answer these question's. One Roran will not be the new rider for one reason. Time. Eragon has had a rushed training, that has cost him in the battles. Roran will need training in magic to be Eragon's equal and he will need to be trained in swordsmanship, because as it stated in the third book over and over " a rider needs a riders blade". Also, Eragon is only as good as he is, because of the ceremony so Roran would probably need triple the time if not more than Eragon got. Adding to that Roran is the most likely person to take up the mantle of king for the humans. Arya on the other hand is the perfect canidate. She already is powerful in magic and swordfighting. Also, if you really look at it CP is gearing up for a union of her and Eragon. It would only be perfect if her dragon joins Saphira. Now with Arya the only thing they need to wait for is the dragon to grow. This as we saw with Saphira will take around 3-4 months to be combat ready against ground troops and 6-7 for a true adversary against another dragon. Lastly, why would CP breakup such a love story as between Roran and Katrina by making him live forever. It just wouldn't be right. Hope you all liked this.

I think that it will be arya. It might be Roran too. Also, I don't think that Tamerlin will be for the new rider. I also think that the elves will make another sword for the new rider (didn't Eragon find enough metal for a few swords?)

Roran's kid isn't even born yet, and it would take more than a decade for the kid to be old enough to fight in a battle. Since Nasuada wants to attack the capitol soon (earlier than a decade) that can't be true

Okay Arya has to be Queen of the elves so she can't be a rider
Roran has to go back to Carvahal and raise his family so he can't be it
Nasuada can't do it because she runs the Varden.
Orik is a dwarf so he can't be a rider at all.

didn't arya say that a good queen does service to her people (something along those lines). Also, I faintly recall something about her not having to take the throne of the elves. (this might not be true)

Um I’m going to have to go Arya... Roran is going to be married and he has several other obligations that CP is leading him into... With the fact that he’s going to be a father and is already a husband makes it unlikely, couple that with the fact that he doesn’t like using swords, and knows nothing of magic or other necessary skills it just seems very unlikely. It’s been said that he is a great leader, and alongside the fact that he is the first new rider’s brother that would make him a good candidate for king. Also as it has been repeatedly said, the bond between dragons and riders causes love that one feels to spill over as the same emotion in the other, the bond Saphira is likely to feel for the new dragon would cause problems if Roran was the rider, since it’s unlikely that both Roran and Eragon are going to leave their current romantic pursuits to become gay lovers it makes it more likely that Arya will be the new rider. And because of the fact that CP said there was hints at who the new rider would be... how would you possibly thing that someone that hasn’t been mention in the third book at all could be the next rider? Especially when CP has been making it clear threw his work that a bond is in the works between Arya and Eragon.

If Eragon gave Roran the strength and speed of an elf he could use the hammer like Fredric suggesting Eragon using a mace.

Yeah, but did Eragon ever learn spells of changing? I don't seem to recall him learning these. Oromis said he would have to wait or something and I don't think it ever happened.

I remember reading if you try to give someone the powers of an elf you would lose some of your elf abilities.

You can give someone else your speed and strength and Eragon knows how to do this however in order to avoid losing his own strength and speed he would have to take this attributes from others like when he takes energy from other's minds and from plants so he could do it with no effect on his physical condition he even considers doing it in Brisingr.

Wow your a really really slow reader. If I read that slow I would have found Brisingr infuriating.

How old are you then? I'm 16 and how fast you read has very little to do with age I know plenty of adults who can't be bothered with books because they are such slow readers.

How can you be like 14? Are you 13 or 15? Do you mean you are 14? Use proper English! Also age has nothing to do with reading age. When I was 13 I could easily read over a hundred and fifty pages an hour possibly less.

Depends on the book... I'm 15 (party party!) and reading the book, The Kite Runner, I could only get 70 or so pages an hour. (I am a fast reader)

One day I tried to see how many pages I could read in a day I got to 2800 pages the books where all the same size probably the same size as the kite runner. Which is a great book but a bit twisted I enjoyed it.

Well. the word 'that' refers to the last idea, object or thing used. So 'that' in this case refers to me making fun of your misuse of the word like. When I said "I did stretch that a bit" I was referring to how long I continued to make fun off your mistake. I continued for two sentences when really there was enough material for one. However I also meant that it was a fairly minor mistake and probably not worthy of a rebuttal. As a note when you do try to criticize another person's grammar make sure that yours is correct (you forgot to use Capitals).

Using like as you do is incorrect English using lol isn't as it is an abbreviation however it would be wrong to use lol in something more formal like an essay. In your opinion capitals are not needed in stories, I am certain that every major publisher would completely disagree. All it requires for you to type a capital is for you to hold down shift for the appropriate letter and nearly every other user conforms to this rule. Since you insist on making this another argument and will undoubtedly be scouring through this looking for mistakes (which are probably there, but you may or may not be able find) then I think I will also take a knife to your post.

2. No apostrophe in dont it should be don't.
3. Can't spell nessisary correctly should be necessary.
4. Dont instead of don't second time.
5. Misspelt storys the plural is actually stories.
6. When you use 'I' it isn't a capital as it should be.
7. Should be single quotation marks around the like as so 'like'.
8. Alot is actually to words (a lot).
9. Should be Redshurtugal's posts notice the apostrophe.
10. Should be he not we.
11. Single quotation marks again this time with lol. (I am not 100% sure on this one though double might be allowed).

That's a bit extreme, there where a few surprises in Brisingr. However, I agree to a degree I think that once he has made a major decision and and starts to write about it in the books it is fairly obvious what the result will be an example would be Orik becoming the King of the dwarves.

Islanzadi won't be the new rider for several reasons.
1. She is the elf Queen.
2. Eragon dosen't like the Queen so won't want to teach her plus how awkward would that teacher-student relationship be on top of the rider-monarch one.
3. Lots of people including me think that Islanzadi will die in the next book.

Solembum won't be the next rider for one major reason.
1. Werecats weren't included in the spell of bonding between the elves and Dragons, Humans were added later.

Horst probably wont't be the next rider because.
1. He has the wrong sort of character.
2. He is already caught up in a relationship with his wife.
3. He knows no magic.
4. We know nothing about how he fights though it is unlikely that he too is an amazing fighter. Either way he does not have elven strength or speed.
5. It seems unlikely that Horst will be exposed to the egg.

Tenga won't be the rider because it is highly unlikely he will come into contact with the egg ever. Eragon also thinks he's crazy so the teacher pupil relationship would again be awkward.

Lifean provably won't come into contact with the egg.
