 Rabbit Proof Fence
Hey, I was just thinking about this film that was on TV here a while ago, and was wondering if anyone else has seen it? There's not really any famous actors in it, and it's a pretty old film, but still good. It's about some mixed-race aborigine girls who get taken away from there families and walk thousands of miles back across Australia to get home. It's a true story.

I don't expect anyone to have heard of it, it's not very well known, but if you get the chance to see it, you should.

That was such a good movie, I saw with my dad at the film fest that happens every summer. It was so sad.

Well it's only called rabbit proof fence because they put up a rabbit proof fence in Australia, and that's what they follow home. There's not actually any rabbits in the film at all. I agree, it was really sad. But still good.

The movie is about three sisters who are natives of Australia who are taken away from their families to become "good people" by the settlers. They don't want to, they're going to be married off against their will, beaten if they don't accept. So they escape and have to follow this fence that is for keeping rabbits and escapees out. The story deals alot with rascism.

Yeah, and it's a true story, and you get to see two of the girls at the end as old women in real life. One was taken back again with her children, and walked all the way back one more, and then her daughter was taken away and she never saw her again.
