Having read both the books about six times, I think I know a few things that will occur in the third book.

Just might be probable :

1. Eragon will use the seven words that Brom taught him before he died.

2. He will get a new Rider's sword ( from under the menoa tree ).

3. He wil kill only Galbatorix ( I mean, not Murtagh, thus neutralising the bonds that Galbatorix placed on him).

4. He will leave Alagaesia in search of Dragons outside it.

Wild Guesses ?????????????????????????? :

1. Elva or Nasuada become the next Rider.

2. When Eragon tried to enter Murtagh's mind, he felt as if it consisted of scores of multitudes of spirits. I think thats one reason why he is so strong : He is controlling spirits in addition to his own immense amounts of energy !!! Maybe a similar thing will happen to Eragon at the vault of souls !!! ........... Oops, I just realized how wierd this sounds !!!!!

That would be cool it could help Eragon alot... But i'm trully not sure what he will do with Murtagh I mean he is his brother but on the other hand Murtagh will definetly start to get in Eragons way in book 3.... I mean what else would you expect Eragon to do and what if Murtagh kidnaps Arya she will become bait for Eragon because of his undivided attraction to her.

I hope murtagh doesn't die he was really cool in the first one and a little of the second one until he got kidnapped

Well at this stage more then likely Eragon is going to be unbelievabley confused.. Because he though Murtagh was his best friend not his brother and hes just going to be upset but of course Eragon isnt trying to hold it on him because Eragon still had asked that even though Murtagh said he made his owth in ancient language Eragon still wanted him to come to his side I guess that will have to be a decision that Eragon and Saphira will have to make

The only logical choice for next rider is Arya. She is already a great magic user and fighter even among the elves. Thus her training as a Rider would not take nearly as long as it would for any human. A few months tops mainly just for her dragon to reach a suitable size for battle. I think Eragon won't gain any power from the VOS, but will relase all the souls there, which I think fuels Galbatorix's and Murtagh's power. He will inherit his father's sword(Brom's) or the Elven smith could make him a new one though I doubt it.

And they were wanting release.

I think that means Murtaugh wants to be good but is unable to because of his oath.

The next rider needs to be strong.

angela, Not very likely. I think she is a kind of "get away from the powerful" relief person for Eragon
Solembum, Hes already magical and can talk with his mind which would minus years of practise
Fradirick, hes a good swords man.

How could you think Elva as a rider? She is just a small girl, granted one with the mark of a dragonrider, but I highly doubt she could be a rider.

i really want the new rider to be Vanir

Yeah Vanir would be a cool rider. Especially since he swore fealty to Eragon!

I think Roran would be good. Because if Eragon outlived the person who is most like a brother to him, it would be kind of sad. But what about roran outliving Katrina? Never mind. Roran probably wouldn't be good.

Yeah, that would be kind of weird.

I think that the next rider will be an elf because it will subtract a very long time off of training a human to be a rider because they already know magic
