this question has been bugging me for a while!!! what if, eragon had found the egg in the spine (it got there the same way of course. arya and durza) and when we read the part where he slept in the spine, the whole dream started! what i mean is, what if the whole trilogy is a premonition of what will happen to eragon? and then in the end of the third book, he wakes up and forgets the dream/premonition but still, the course of events still happen? creepy thought, isn't it? i hope that actually doesn't happen, of course, but it could be true!

heartily agreed. The trilogy is far too elaborate to be a dream and Arya killing Eragon is just... disturbing. By killing him, she kills Saphira whom she had carried for some number of years.

Plus, if Eragon was dreaming then how could he have dreams of Arya while he was already in a dream? There are lots of things that defy this. So, I'm going with this having a 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of happening (the only reason I put a 1 in there, is because everything has a CHANCE of happening, even if it is VERY unlikely)
