Hi, I'm new to these forums but I have read through the books a couple times and I believe this has already been hinted but I was wondering how many people noticed the similarities in storylines comparing the star wars trilogy with the inheritance trilogy.

1. Eragon's mother hides from his father and he is hidden in a remote village to be raised by his uncle and be secluded from the empire- Luke is hidden from the empire and raised by his aunt and uncle.
2. Brom goes there to watch over him as he grows and develops. Obi-Wan watches over luke
3. The empire comes and kills both uncles
4. Brom and Obi-Wan take Eragon and Luke, respectively, and train them in the ways of their positions Jedi/Rider
5. Brom and Obi-Wan are killed while defending Eragon/Luke from the forces of evil
6. Eragon and Luke both rescue female companions Arya/Leia
7. Eragon and Luke both become friends with male companions who help them to fight Han/Murtagh
8. Both Eragon and Luke (with companions) take refuge at a "secret rebel base" which is about to be attacked by a superior force.
9. The battle of Farthen Dur and the Death Star are similar in their construct.
10. Eragon and Luke both go to the last members of the previous order for training Oromis/Yoda
11. Both characters are pressed into battle before their training is complete. Eragon in the battle of the burning plains, and Luke in the cloud city.
12. Both characters confront a (at the time) superior foe, who reveals to both of them that they are the offspring of an evil father. Vader/Murtagh (Morzan)

This is the extent of what I read from Eragon/Eldest and compared. The rest of these are merely speculation drawn from the last of the second and the third movie, some may have some real basis, some may be very outrageous but as is all speculation, which is exactly the point that speculation is fun and the only thing you can do besides reading the books again and wait for the third book.

1. Eragon goes to finish his training with Oromis (very likely) and Oromis dies shortly thereafter like Yoda
2. Eragon, like Luke in the third movie, will become more powerful than he is in the second book, and will learn more intricate ways of the force.
3. Like luke, he will have a new sword as his father's has been taken like lukes fathers was lost. This could be forged for him by the elves, or could come from under the tree (many speculations on this already)
4. Eragon will be captured or give himself freely because he believes in Murtagh (or he will seek a way to undo the bindings of Murtaghs oath, which is more likely and in Eldest, it is already set up that Murtagh has good in him because he spares Eragon.
5. The already famous star wars theory, that Eragon will be either under duress or losing a battle to Galbatorix (or something) and Murtagh turns on Galby and kills him. (vault of souls...)

Anyway if you have any ideas or similarities that you saw, post em up.
