hey, I remember in the first book that brom said that the first eragon's dragon's name was Bid'Daum or something. Brom also said that Eragon named him in the acient langugange, so do u think Bid'Dam is the acient languange's name?

My guess of what the name of the Ancient Lanaguage would be 'truth'. Take a look at the nature of the Ancient Language. It can only be spoken truthfully. It reveals the true name of everything. Knowing the true name of something gives you the ability to control it or to empower it.

Whatever the name of the Ancient Language is, and the word and meaning for truth are one and the same. At least that's what I think.

You know, that isn't a bad name for it at all. That might be it, but I don't know. I mean, they had that languange even before they cast the enchantment meaning that you could lie while saying it, sort of saying that it is probly not truth. I still say that is a good guess though.

Many people say that The Elfs langange was based on old norse. Can anyone translate OLD NORSE into the old norse languange? Sort of confusing, but like our languange is called english (ingles in spanish), spanish in there langange is called espanol, so what do people who speak old norse call there langange?

Hmmm. I thought about that too. I don't think OLD NORSE would be called old norse. It would just be Norse. I haven't been able to find a translation for the word Norse in Old Norse.

I mean, (as I said before) we call our languange english and we call spanish spanish. But spanish people call their languange espanol and english is ingles, so whatever old norse people call their languange is probly what the languange's name is.

Galbatorix was born at the height of the old Dragon Riders power. That was the time when no one hid their true name. I think everyone knows galby's true name, maybe they just haven't thought about it.

Yeah, Brom told Eragon that in the first book (duh, he died in the first one so it couldn't be the second). I think it was in that chapter "Tea For Two". I'll have to look it up. Funny thing is, that's the chapter I'm on. I'm rereading the first book for like, the fifth time.

every one says that, but (as many others have said) it seems that the book has to start with an E, have six letters, and relate to the rider. It seems as though it might because the new rider might be part of the empire, but I don't think that he/she will be.

Maybe Murtagh will steal the last egg and give it to the Varden without Galbatorix knowing.(obviously) Just to prove that he still doesn't serve Galbatorix willingly. That would make a cool part of the story.

It says that Glaby made Murtagh swear a lot in the acient languange so that he wouldn't disobay him. Maby Murtagh will find a way to bypass that. WHO REALLY KNOWS? OTHER THAN CP!!

Well we all know that. But we don't know exactly how much galby made him swear. Who knows, maybe Galbatorix put him in charge of finding candidates for the last egg, then when it hatches and before galby hears about it, Murtagh will kidnap the Rider and hatchling and deposit them with the Varden. Farfetched, definitely. The only one to decide whether it will happen, CP.

That may happen, but i doubt that Murtagh will kidnap him. I would think that he would tell him to run to the varden.

it would invoke the magic
and he'd either die. faint or stop it in time to be extremely confused

Maybe one of the Grey Folks descendents will tell Eragon, because they married off to other races before they died out. Or possibly Eragon IS a descendent of the Grey Folk.

Know one knows the name of the ancient language, and it cant be Algaesia because if someone even says the name of the ancient language it wouldn't be a pretty site
