Galb probably won't fall for cheap tricks. His council and servants are probably people who can't defend themselves against a mind probe. While Eragon, would defend himself giving Galb the initiative to kill him in seconds.

I'm pretty sure Galby could backfire that somehow if Eragon tried it.

It probably still is impossible. Galby's probably /very/ familiar with this idea of drawing magic from other beings, so I'm sure he has a way to counter it.

I think Eragon will kill Galby in a way similar to how Isildur killed Sauron in Lord of The Rings. You know, someone will get sacrificed in the way and Eragon looks so helpless then Galby will probably do the evil guy wins *MUAHAHAHA* thing and suddenly Eragon killed him with his last bit of energy. I read in an interview with CP that he plans to re-visit alegasia after he discovers some new places....
