I was thinking last night, and I never heard mention about women riders. I may be wrong, but this would eliminate Arya, Nasuada, and Elva from the list of possible riders of the green dragon.


(Edit) Ok, ok now we know that there are girl riders. I overlooked something that Brom said, but it is not my fault, because I lost my copy of Eragon.

two things
1. we dont know for sure its green
2.Elva wouldnt be a good rider because in battle if someone died next to her she would die instead

We DO know that it will be green, because CP has said that it will be green with a dragon facing to the right. Besides, I'm just giving a list of possible canidates from what I've seen on this website.

of course there would be women riders do you really think a dragon wouldn't pick someone to be their rider because they were a woman thats not how it works they pick their rider by their skill and sutability that may just be a woman

I'm just wondering as to what everyone thinks. It could help narrow it down as to who will be the newest rider.

Maybe elf women, but not human, because Arya said that human women were weak.

i can agree with that partially there may be some human women that are strong nasuada for example but elf women are exactly that female

No, because they weren't involved in the binding of the elves and dragons. Humans were added later, so the magic wasn't as strong. Dwarves weren't added.

and the dwarfs weren't added because of the distrust between dragons and dwarfs

the only problem with dwarf riders are that they are so small compared to the dragons, it would be like an ant riding a frog

I don't think size is an issue, as dragon's are always growing. So, therefore, a centuries old dragon with a human rider would dwarf the human, as their size constantly grows.

There may not be a girl rider as it has never been mentioned in the books but if there has to be one i think that Nasuada will be a great choice as she has a very strong character.
I would love to know as to why there have been no girl riders even she were to be an elf and if there has been any i hope CP tells us about it in the next book.

Nobody knows. The only legendary dragonriders we know are Vrael and the First Eragon. Possibly.

I think it would be cool if there was a history of all of the riders,then we could know mroe about them, i bet there were more then 1 famous riders but they just arn't mentioned
Im not sure but during Eragons training with either Brom or Orimis Eragon asked is there were female riders, he said yes adn sometimes they were stronger then most male riders

in the book it never said any names of femal riders. but i still think that their were some.. we will just have to wait till the 3 book comes out to see if our theory's are right or wrong

certainly there where female riders and that is because the dragons chose the new riders not only by skill and power but by personality as well. and if there is gona the 3th rider to be a female i think the best choice is arya

because their hasnt been any information about powerful girl riders.. like morzan.. he was very powerful.. murtagh says he is powerful than morzan ever was.. galbatorix.. very strong, Eragon the first, their has been no girl rider mentioned that was very powerful..

not specifially but during Eragons training with Brom he sadi that most of the Woman riders were stronger then the male riders. Just because the main characters are boys dosent mean that the most powerful riders are boys. I mean, look at famale Elfs, they could beat eragon if he didnt hae saphria around, and if they had a dragon they could beat him easy

I think the next Rider will be Roran. I don't think Katrina has the ability to be a Rider. Arya might be a good rider. But I think it's going to be Roran then they will all be related. See? Getting back on topic..... I think Arya will be the rider because if Saphira mates with her male dragon, Eragon will be intimatly linked with Arya, and they would be lovers like everyone thinks they will be.

I've read all the last 6 pages and I am amused how we keep going in circles. To say that female riders are weak is hilarious. To say that male riders are stronger is also laughable. The hatchling inside the eggs chooses its' partner based on compatibility and talents, not because of gender. CP has portrayed very strong women in his books, Nasuada, Arya, Birgit, Katrina, Angela, and Islanzadí just to name a few. CP has not gone too deep into this, but what he has said is crystal clear.

Men are generally stronger than women because that's the way they are "built", but I've beaten several guys in arm wrestling and I'm sure I could give a guy a fair nosebleed if I had the motivation, so it proves nothing. There are definitely girl riders. It is proven that the majority of girls are more talented and smarter than guys in the part of England that I live in, so men are not better than girls at all. Equality, people, equality...
