*says quietly to Rafi* You're asking a lot of Shade for telling him to be patient jkjk.
I don't think it will be as bad as Eragon. They will have to change a lot, but that's only because they have to fit so much into a 2 hour long movie.
What the? I definitely have more faith in this movie than Eragon! Come on, the creators are co-writing the script, it's not going to be a failure. The casting is total fail, but still, I believe in Mike and Bryan, if I haven't said that already.
And I wonder what they're going to do about Kataang in this movie. Kataang is pretty important to the show, since it's all about Aang and Katara finding each other and all, but the whole show isn't exactly focused on shipping. Buuut ... I do believe they'll have a decent amount of Kataang. I say this because I found some CGI of the movie!! It's the Kataang hug at the end of the Siege of the North
I miss the lower case avatar rocks!!!! D:

Exactly what you said! There's no way this movie can be as bad as Eragon. It just can't be, it's Avatar!
Sweet! It's nice to know they'll include Kataang in the movie. I doubt it'll have as much as there is in the actual show though, since M. Night Shyamalan's movies are usually scary and depressing. He doesn't have much experience with romance.
Yeah, I don't like the way this looks. It's just not right, can someone please make the topic lower-cased again?
Yeah, doesn't he also give himself some kind of role in every movie of his? I bet he'll try to be Bumi or something.
It's really throwing me off.
Anyway, here's a video showing the four main charries, including Katara and Sokka. I'll reserve my comments...

Lol, yeah, I bet he'll take the role of someone important. If he's King Bumi I'm going to start crying in the theater!
Yeah.. they look way too young for Kataang anyway. I actually hope they don't include it as much as in the show.
Whoa! All of them look hideous! I see no resemblance with any of the actual characters. The only things I find accurate are Sokka and Katara's hairstyles.

one thing though is they did get zuko's scar in there... hard to see with how fuzzy the pic is but its there
Yeah, not as good as in the show, though. But have you seen Katara? She undoubtedly looks like she's 8 years old. Plus I don't see hair loopies. On the other hand, Sokka looks like he's 30. And would it kill Noah Ringer to smile? I swear, that kid has never smiled in his life

i guess they only showed pictures where the mood was really serious... and ya ill give ya that katara looks too young...
What's with the seriousness though? Blah. They always make everything overly dramatic and serious in movies. All of the humor and comedy we know and love in Avatar is going to be lost in The Last Airbender. Isn't it annoying how they couldn't even include the word "Avatar" in the movie's name? Because some other movie is coming out at the same time called "Avatar" or something.

What's with the topic name? No offense, but... I like the old one better. I hate change...
Anyway, greetings, fellow Avatards. Sorry about the quotes from like three pages ago; seems I missed a bit.

Well, Appa had a role throughout the entire show, too. He's Aang's animal guide; there's no way they can possibly cut him out. I'm just hoping the effects will be decent. Unless they like make it a big Appa puppet and have people in it o.O

Yeah, but she was only in one movie. She probably doesn't have much experience right now....Idk. I guess we'll see.
Acting aside, I still don't like Nicole Peltz as Katara. She looks nothing like her. Sorry Shyamalan, but you kinda got the wrong ethnicity.

Don't worry, I already took care of that. Hopefully it'll be changed back soon.
Yeah, I agree, the show is actually aimed for 6-8 year-olds, or something like that. I guess it's your opinion and all, but Avatar is in fact pretty kiddish, face the facts.
Haha, yeah, depressed is a pretty bad way to put it. Think about it, Appa was the only thing Aang has left from the Southern Air Temple, the only remembrance of his past. If you had that taken away from you, you would be pretty angry, now wouldn't you?
I don't know.. I haven't seen any of her work. She could be a good actress, but I doubt it. M. Night Shyamalan has a bad habit of making terrible casting decisions.
Lol, for sure. None of the ethnicities in the movie are correct though.
Ranting isn't a bad thing in this topic. Until the Mods come to check it out.

EDIT: Uh, never mind...Sorry.
On topic:: You guys know how in the trailer it showed those Fire Nation dudes attacking the temple? My siblings and I were discussing whether or not that's canon. I mean, Aang said that the only way to get to the temple was by flying bison, right? So how did they get up there? In the trailer, they showed them climbing the cliffside, but in the show, we couldn't really see any water or space for ships or anything. `~` What do you guys think?
Btw, exact one year anniversary of the finale when it aired last year. Wow...a whole year already.

Okay guys, let's drop it. I'd rather not have this topic locked or something because people are fighting.
Anyway, this picture was released recently along with pictures of the cast. Apparently, it's been confirmed as fake. I guess it would have been decent. I really thought it was real, but it's not, so...

I'm going to be honest here; I like Avatar: The Last Airbender too, but if you're all going to act like you just did, getting mad over A TV/CARTOON SERIES, you are all the ones that are acting childish!
Like Arya stated, if you continue this up, this topic will be locked! (Which I was about to do..)

yeah, you guys are right. sorry for being stupid. I am 15 after all lol. though it would seem more like ten but whatever, let's all calm down and start regular, nice discussions.
So... like Toph said, it's been a year since the finale aired. Wow, it felt like just yesterday. We haven't seen many updates regarding the future of the show this year. I thought they were going to make a mini-series or something, but nothing has come out about it. Well, maybe Mike and Bryan will release something important at the San Diego Comic Con on July 25th.

Well, I'm not exactly sure as to what they had in mind for Avatar... they were just rumors. But, I think they were talking about having 3 episodes showing the GAang and where they are now. Either that, or they were thinking of have a whole new set of characters and continuing the show with them. But again, I'm not exactly sure here... I don't think anything was ever official.

Hm, I honestly wouldn't want them to have a new series with new characters. It just wouldn't be Avatar. The original Gaang is the best, and 3 extra episodes would be fantastic! I can't wait till the San Diego Comic Con. I mean, I'm not going, but there's sure to be loads of news online.
Mike and Bryan will probably also mention things regarding the live-action movies. Unless Shyamalan doesn't want anything leaked.. we'll see.

Re: Avatar rocks
I wouldn't mind a series with new character, I'm all for new ideas and stuff like that. they could make something even better, you never know. the original gaang could still be in it too, as old people or somedthing lol.
Hmm, but the way I see it is that if they change the characters, they're basically changing the whole show. I mean, to me, the characters are what make the show. It's their whole story, their struggle. If they changed it, who would be the main character? The new Avatar? The conflict wouldn't be as dramatic. The world's already at peace, the war already ended. It wouldn't be as good as the original. And I doubt they're making a new series. Bryke already said this would be the end of the show. If they continue it with new characters, I don't think it would be good. The show already ended perfectly. I have a feeling new characters would just ruin the whole show. So all I'd want to see is some kind of mini-series with the Gaang. At least, that's my silly old opinion, lol.

I agree with Arya and Aang; new characters just wouldn't be the same. Obviously. The original GAang make Avatar what it is; new characters can never compare to them.
::In other news, have you guys heard about Aang's stunt double for the movie? Now I don't want to be mean, but I must admit, that's rather ... pathetic. I thought, "okay, so the kid doesn't look or act too much like Aang. But at least he has years of martial arts experience." Except now, he has a stunt double in the movie? And on top of that, she's a woman! I don't know how they can pull her off as Aang, with her build and all. =/ What do you guys think?
Yeah, the stunt double thing seems weird to me... Though I guess that means they're going to have a lot of stunts in the movie, like really hardcore ones I'd say, looking at that stunt lady's video. So I guess that could be a good thing. Though ... it's funny. Aang, being the cutie he is, would probably say his "And I am NOT a woman" line again Darn him and his silliness

Yeah, it is kind of weird. That lady has been in a lot of movies and shows and she performs everywhere, so she's pretty well-known. I don't doubt the amazing martial arts in this movie thanks to her, but they shouldn't go overboard. Avatar is mainly focused on bending, not all these intricate fight movements.
It is funny for sure. Incredibly ironic, but I guess M. Night Shyamalan hasn't watched the show enough to get it.

Re: Avatar rocks
obviously if they make a new series with new characters, they have to make a different plot, they're not just going to be thrown together in a big waffle. I like the old characters too, but seriously, if they make a new series there's nothing that can say it will be bad. they can tie it to the last one somehow or something.
Well, it doesn't matter. They're not making a new one anyway. The show already ended perfectly, they don't want to drag it out unnecessarily like shows who have hundreds of episodes, i.e. Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, etc. They probably couldn't get consent from Nickelodeon anyway.
Here's a video with a lot of updates and other info on The Last Airbender. M. Night talks a bit about the changes needed to be made, like Sokka, who hes' apparently 'grounded down' in the movie to give it an 'overall new tone.' Basically that means Sokka isn't going to be his usual sarcastic, dry humor self and will probably be another generic movie character.

I iz Avatard! Not as big as Alpha, he's the master (And don't get used to saying "Alpheykins" >.>)
By the way, here's the ultimate way to test if you truly are an Avatard. This video.
It's scary, all of those things apply to me, except for the rock candy thing, mostly cause I haven't seen rock candy in years, and the cell phone playback thing, though that does seem like a good idea... :dreams of talking to Aang: Yeah...
Anyway, Silva, what's your idea? I never imagined you'd have plans involving us four and Avatar... LOL.

Lol, consider yourself lucky, Silver. Sometimes being obsessed can do weird things to you. xD
Haha, no, that would be creepy. I always try to Waterbend in the shower though, and when it rains. Well, not always, but sometimes when there's nothing else to do, lol.
So what are you suggesting, we find something different to get into? Honestly, I don't think that's happening for me.
Lol, yes, I try to water bend at least once a day... not on the toilet, though O.O
What do you mean, "fit the category", and "never the same"...? You're confusing me... Lol.
To make this on topic, the nice people on theavatarportal.org are making an Avatar MMORPG, which is basically going to be 'the book 4 everyone always wanted'. I suppose it sounds good, though the last time there was an Avatar online game it kinda sucked. Though that one was made by Nick...

You try to waterbend at least once a day? Aang tries to waterbend when there's nothing to do? I suppose they'd be good exercises ... seeing as they're based off real martial arts. I might try killing people with my invisible hands, but unfortuately, that's not as much of an exercise as it sounds lol ....
No, but it doesn't matter. I was just trying to help cause I honestly can't stand that feeling >.<
No thanks. Eragon MMORPG kinda sucked. I got a gold egg, cheated through two riddles and ended up staring at a random thundering backround for about 45 minutes.
I already had something that helped... but that doesn't matter.
I don't think it'll be quite like the Eragon one...

I'm still waiting for updates on what went on at the SDCC this past Saturday. There has to be some kind of news dealing with the Avatar panel.
EDIT: Another update. Apparently a company called Del Rey will be making a manga of the Last Airbender movie. Not that exciting to me, but it's still news, I guess.

All in good fun, though funny, I find it annoying that I can't delete my post so, those that read back will find this
Anyways, at your edit, Del Rey has some good stuff, though I can't quite see Avatar fitting in with their line of mangas, I mean, look at that, it's a motorcycling princess wielding a chainsaw, FOR THE COVER!!
but hey, they have legit roots in Japan
Del Rey's About us page wrote:
About Us Del Rey Manga launched its first titles in May 2004, when Random House and Kodansha entered into a large-scale cross-publishing relationship. As a result, Kodansha, the largest publisher in Japan, brought their strongest properties to the Del Rey Manga line. When the first four titles were released, Ken Akamatsu's Negima and CLAMP's Tsubasa were the top two graphic novels in the country, and CLAMP's xxxHOLiC and Sunrise's Gundam SEED were close behind. With just eleven manga releases that year, Del Rey's success resulted in its becoming the number four manga publisher in the United States, quickly establishing established the company as a powerhouse in the fastest-growing field in American publishing. In early 2005, the graphic novel news site ICV2.com selected Del Rey as the "Top New Manga Publisher of the Year."
But this was just the beginning for Del Rey Manga. 2005 saw the launch of a richly expanded line-up, including fan-favorite Genshiken and the bestselling Wallflower, and a brilliant milestone: in April 2005, Del Rey Manga celebrated its millionth manga in print. Later that year, readers had their own say when fan website AnimeonDVD.com named Del Rey Manga its "Top Manga Publisher of the Year." In 2006, Del Rey Manga's growing library got even more diverse, with the addition of the hotly anticipated titles Air Gear by Oh!great and Q-ko-chan by Hajime Ueda, and a fresh line-up of titles for older readers, such as Fuyumi Soryo's ES: Eternal Sabbath and Basilisk. Del Rey's record of releasing the best manga Japan has to offer continues, with new titles announced regularly. In 2007, a treasure chest of new titles will give every manga reader something to look forward to, from sweet romances like Kitchen Princess to instant classics like Mushishi, and with many more hot, award-winning manga still to come!
If I'm going to cause trouble and then cover it up I might as well site my source

That's so not funny ... but at least it wasn't to the extent of my worry though. -.- credit for that, I'll kill you later.
Yeah ... Vroengard Academy. It did surq.
I should've remembered who I was talking to >.>
Anyway, on topic. Um ... Avatar is avatarish. Very. It's not too popular here as it is there ... um ... and yeah, *shrug* my favourite character is the old woman who tells Aang to collect frozen frogs in order to cure Sokka's sickness.
Not to be rude, but I believe you should only post if you actually have something to say related to the topic. I mean, I really really don't want this to get locked... so, please? I can't even imagine coming back after a week and seeing a little yellow X next to the title...
Popular around here? I've never actually met another person who likes this show, outside of my family. I don't know why.... the fandom seems large enough. It would be interesting to see the demographics of it...
Yes, that woman was quite amazing. And she was in two episodes, not like other characters! She made a re-appearance in Bato of the Water Tribe.
I watched Sozin's Comet last night... 3rd time I saw it, I think. I remember seeing it for the first time last year and thinking, "Wow, this is it... Avatar's over..." but it's weird how it's been a year since then and I'm no less obsessed....

Hey, I totally edited that post, based off of Nida's edit >.>
What poll? Popularity isn't everything, I know a few people that watch, but don't admit it because it's a cartoon (Lol it's an Avatoon)
-.- I think I saw that one... or at least part of it... (I never had Nick at home so )
So, Iroh. His journey to the spirit world. Is it possible for a person to go into the spirit world on his own? We know the Avatar can, obviously. He's the bridge between the spirit world and the regular world. We know Sokka and those other villagers went in there, but that was only because Hei Bai had captured them. So how did Iroh go there? He's a mysterious character. His history is rather unknown. Also, his nickname, the Dragon of the West. Is that because he was the last person to learn the secret of true firebending form the dragons? Or was it because he could breathe fire from his mouth? That technique is not uncommon. We've seen Zuko, Azula, and Ozai do it. Though Iroh could have been the one to develop it.
And what of Ursa? Is she dead? Azula did say in one episode in Zuko's nightmare, "Sleep, Zuko, sleep just like mom!" Or something along those lines. That's one theory. Or she could just be banished. Though the fact that her whereabouts remain unknown at the end of the show could be an indicator that she is dead. Usually deaths in Avatar occur without any real explanation afterwards. Like Zhao and Jet. Even Sokka said it himself in EIP. Zuko asked, "Did Jet just die"? and Sokka said, "You know, it was never really clear" Though Bryke did clarify themselves that Jet did in fact die in Lake Laogai. So it's probable that Ursa could be dead.

Re: Avatar rocks
Hm, I'm not sure. I'm trying to think of ways he could have intentionally gone into the Spirit World, but there really are none. I mean, he's obviously not the Avatar, and he can't be old enough to have known Roku or anyone else who knew him. I'm thinking somehow his connection with Ren and Chaw could have done something, but then, how? They aren't spirits! And as to the Dragon of the West title, I think both to what you said. He was the last to learn from them, or, according to the Fire Nation's side of the story, was the last to slay them, and he developed the technique of fire breathing. I haven't seen anyone breathe as much as he did in The Guru...
Yeah, there was definitely significance behind that quote. I'm not exactly sure what I think of what happened to Ursa, though a guy named ToonTownTriumph seems to. He has a series of videos on Youtube trying to discover what actually happened, and he released a trailer of episode four today. I saw some promising clues in there, so here's a link. I can't wait til he releases it! I'll post it for you guys once it's out.
Hm, maybe Iroh never really went into the spirit world.... the only evidence we have is how he saw Aang's spirit returning to his body in the episode "The Spirit World." But Katara also saw the same thing in "The Siege of the North." Maybe you need to have a strong connection to the spirit world. Like Katara, she and Aang have a strong bond, so maybe she's somehow connected to the spirit world. I dunno what it would be for Iroh, though... maybe something with Ren and Chaw..
Yeah, hopefully his video will have an in-depth investigation into that. It seems like he's working hard on it.
Anyway, as some of you know.... it's Kataang Week 2009! I'll try to post some of the best works I can find, probably mostly fan arts

Could be... I have a feeling he did though. I don't think Mike and Bryan would deliberately mention that he did two or three times in the show, and have the truth be he didn't actually do it. You could be right in saying that only people with a strong connection with the Spirit World can see spirits returning to bodies, but it could also have been just a coincidence that Katara looked up and the others didn't.
Yeah, it does seem like he's working hard. He was screaming in the trailer, so I guess he was pretty excited about what he found.
Oh yeah, Happy Kataang Week! Today's day 2, so we have plenty of time to go. I'll be sure to save the pictures as you post them. xD And speaking of Kataang Week, I finally finished my AMV! But it's still processing on Youtube, so I'll post it once it's done.
Lol yeah. Let's hope he gets something out of all that.
I finished all mine... yup.
Someone posted this on an AMV of mine. It humored me.

Maybe...but I think what Nida said could be getting somewhere. Since Katara, of everyone, had the strongest connection to Aang, only she saw his spirit when it was finding its way back to his body. And maybe only Iroh saw the spirit of Roku's dragon when it flew by because he was the only firebender in the scene and he was the only one who had ever made contact with a dragon. I still have no idea about how he journeyed into the Spirit World though..
Hm, I haven't checked any of those videos out yet. And seeing that he's working on the forth one, I have some catching up to do!
Well, let's see them, Nida!!! Here's what I did for Kataang Week. They're not fanarts, or avatars, no, but signatures! Original, huh?:
[Prompt: Mischief]
[Prompt: Skin]
I got too lazy to make the other...five...but oh well! lol
@Youtube commenter guy: I don't get it..
And I know most of you have probably known/seen this, but there's going to be a manga made out of The Last Airbender movie, (which is said to be based mostly on Zuko's banishment), and here is the prequel! It isn't bad, but Aang looks kinda girly and Zuko is just a bit too serious-looking. But it's good enough to please me.

Yeah, I think I'm actually leaning towards that, too. You're right about both of those things. Iroh is one big mystery! (And when I say big, I mean big!) It's just another one of those Avatar mysteries that haven't been solved and never will be.
I haven't watched any of them either, except I think I briefly saw the first one. Oh well, the previous videos seem to only give background information that was already explained in the episode, but episode is finally getting somewhere.
Nice work!! :mrgeen: Those are awesome sigs! And Nida, post now!

Haha, hey elve King! Well, I'm sorry to say that actually this topic isn't staying alive so well... that last post by me was made on September 2nd, so this topic's been really inactive as of now. I guess there isn't much to discuss except for the movies, but now that you're here, why don't we get something going here?
Have you heard any news regarding the movies? All I'm hearing are very few interviews with the cast members. They seem to be hard at work right now, so they're not looking for any distractions I'm guessing. We only need to wait until this summer for the movie, guys!

Yeah, you're right, after the new year, we should hopefully start hearing interviews from ALL the characters, especially Noah Ringer, him being the main character. And not to mention a trailer! I wonder when that's gonna come up.
I sure hope they avoid distractions then! I heard from an interview with Shaun Toub (the actor selected for Iroh) that the visual effects are apparently really fantastic and mind-blowing. We'll just have to see about that, considering special effects seem to be the only good aspect of this movie so far. Yeah, I signed up for that too, coincidence, huh? I haven't gotten a single email from them yet though, have you?

Yea well the director ( i just dont feel like spelling his name lol) is really big with Spec Effects all the time. Im partially majoring in computer Spec effects so i know a bit about it. Im not sure who he chose as a Spec effects director but the director is usually really good with his choices

Yeah, that's for sure. He's always had these horror movies with great effects and whatnot, and not Avatar involves so much of that kind of stuff. It'll be really exciting to see. And they always try to incorporate as much as they can in their trailers also, so that thing will be a sight to see!

Definitely! Speaking of the trailer, when's it coming out? Sometime within 2009 would be really nice, because the wait for the actual movie isn't too long now.
Show-off. Lol, just kidding. Have you gotten any updates recently? I don't think I've gotten anything yet.

well i like to think on the positive side at least until i see it. but at least we know that we can expect Shyamalan to do his best on the movie. Unlike eragon this movie has a well known director behind it... If Shyamalan doesnt pull this off his career could go down the drain

Yup, M. Knight Shamawhatsit is really good with special effects.

Yeah, they've decided to make 3 movies in total, one for each book in the show. So they'll have movies with the storyline of each season, Water, Earth, and Fire.
I haven't seen too many of his movies actually, so I'm not familiar with his special effects. I'll take your word for it though, that's he good. From what I saw in the trailer, I'd say I'm semi-impressed.

I love this show, its a shame its over in a sense (aside from the movie) Zuko and Mai are two of the coolest characters ever designed. Toph amuses me greatly.. really I haven't found so much as a single unlikeable character in the entire show.
One of my favorite episodes is "The Puppet Master" its quite dark, in its own right. and also the entire Final was epic.

I agree, as I'm sure many people do I suppose that as long as the actors do a good job and actually make themselves look like the characters they are playing.. I'll be able to tolerate it... >.> perhaps...

Yeah, some of the casting choices they've made haven't been perfect, but they're just trying to make money. I mean, they got Dev Patel, just because he was in Slumdog Millionaire, and they got Jackson Rathbone since he's in the Twilight series. They chose two of the main characters for their popularity, even when M. Night Shyamalan (the director) said himself in an interview that he would choose unknown kids. Oh well..
As long as they have nice special effects for the bending and they somewhat stick to the original storyline, I'm sure we'll enjoy the movie.

Agreed. He's just not.... the right ethnicity And besides that, I don't know, his facial features are just unlike Zuko's. As for his acting, I suppose he's alright. Wonder if it'll be hard to transition from playing a "slumdog" to a royal prince
Well, actually, some of the actors like Dev Patel and Noah Ringer are somewhat tolerable, compared to... others. For example, Aasif Mandvi as Zhao.
That's just not right... -.-' I still think Hugh Jackman could make the perfect Zhao.

LOLOL! So true XDD But seriously, is he not like the perfect live-action version of Zhao? =D I don't know what M. Night even based his choices off of, since most of them are so... not good >___>

Actually, I think the casting director is the person who chooses the actors.
And ya'll are right, Hugh Jackman would make a good Zhao.

You may be right on a general scale, but for The Last Airbender, I'm pretty sure M. Night did it himself. Maybe the casting director organized everything formally, but there's been interviews with M. Night where he explains his casting choices and such.

There are actors that look like real life versions of the characters, I don't really understand not trying to get them for the roles. Its too bad Zuko's va isn't a few years younger, he could play the role himself better than the actor they chose for him.. XD

I thought it was going to be something like the Death Note Movie. I never saw it but everyone was oriental ( I can't remember exactly what they are) and even though all the characters in Avatar come from all over the world they are all the same the only ones that look different are Sokka and Katara.

I'm thinking the casting will be somewhat tolerable as long as the plot is good. What do you guys think? I mean, I hope it follows pretty much what the original show was like. Since it had such an amazing plot and all

*likes movie Saphira* and actually dragons can infact have feathers Something that troubles me about the Avatar movie is that looking at the cast list there is no mention of people like Mai, or Iroh (to name couple) I would hate to think that they would remove characters.
I suppose so long as its only book 1 and they get someone suitable to play Toph in the next one I can be satisfied. They had just better not screw up the story.. or there will be blood shed...

I agree with gomenesigh. Saphira did not look good in the movie, and I don't remember any part in the books where she was described as having feather-like scales and hair. It seems like the computer animation people on the movie watched that show American Dragon before they designed her.
But I thought that Iroh and Toph were both in the first book? (Which is going to made the first movie.)

she doesn't have feathery wings in the book lol I didn't notice her having hair until it was mentioned XD but its not uncommon for mythical dragons to have such things, in part of the design process they had Saphira look quite lion-like so do try to be thankful that the designers came to their senses XD
As for the topic Toph shows up in the second book, Iroh however is there from the very beginning as he and Zuko travel together.

I know, but I still don't like how she looks and I've never heard a dragon described as feathery.

Toph's just way too cool for anyone to play in real life >____>
Heh, jk. Though I can't really think of anyone off the top of my head that would be a decent Toph.

The problem is finding a buff little girl or someone who might do that.

Re: Avatar rocks
Well Toph isn't actually buff. She's just tough and likes fighting. Not all benders are really buff anyway. They'll probably just find an ordinary girl who resembles Toph in some ways to play the role.

Yeah, I guess you're right. She's just a more violent girl. It'll be really hard to find the ideal actress to play her though. I can't think of anyone who naturally looks like her. They'll have to go all out with make-up and clothing and such to match her appearance.

But the thing is.... her hair >____> It's awesome, don't get me wrong, but it's going to be impossible to recreate. Seriously, it's this huge bun thingy bigger than her head! They might just change her hair style altogether for the movie, I don't know.
