ok peoples i think his weapon will b broms sword and..... may b thats whats under the menoa tree! remember broms swords missin! besides i think broms really his father! there waz some tricky riddle n eldest that said well i 4got but it had somethin 2 do with murtagh and his parents! i think they have the same momma but different pappas! i think thats where the whole inheritance thing came from broms sword is eragons inheritance! not a hammer who came up with that? that would b funny! he faces galbatorix w/ a giant hammer! he'll really win that fight!

I think Eragon is going to get the first dragon riders sword. The reason I think is they did even though they did not know each other, they still shared the same caracteristics. I mean, look at how they raised there dragons. They hid them from everyone else. They secluded them from the world and raised them in secrecy. Also, the same name. That could be a coencedence, but I have a feeling that Chris did not just put that in for a little extra facts. I think that he put it in there for a reason.

Ok, So this one is REALLY out there... but hey it's fun.
What if the first Dragon rider was Brom?? That would explain why Brom had Islanzandi's favor. What if one of the Elven families holds Brom's sword and they give it to Eragon. As far as the weapon under the Menoa tree... what if it is Galbatorix's true name... gleaned by the Elf who sang herself into the tree (remember elves possess the ability to find out a dragon riders true name). How would that be for a twist.

Some1 might have said it but what if Eragon gets Vraels sword? And whats under the menoa tree is directions to find it :O. I would like to see a quest to Doru Areaba since im obsessed with it

Someone said earlier that Eragon and Orik's clan were now like blood brothers because Eragon cut his hand, and then lots of people jumped all over him and told him he was crazy and made it up.

However, page 79 of Eldest states:
Orik nodded with approval and said, "Then take this Knurlnien, this Heart of Stone, and cup it between your hands -- yes, like so. You must steel yourself now and prick open a vein to wet the stone. A few drops will suffice ... To finish repeat after me: Os il dom qiranu carn dur thargen, zeitmen, oen grimst vor formv edaris rak skilfz. Harho is belgond."
The last bit is translated in the back of the book:
Let our flesh, honor, and hall be made as one by this blood of mine. I do pledge ...

That's not quite the same as the juvenile blood brother things that 13 year old boys do, but it is a blood oath nonetheless -- and all the dude originally said was that "they were like blood brothers," and he's totally right -- they're family now, and Eragon is entitled to all the rights of the clan.

I only bring this up b/c the dude also requested that people be nice and not respond with mean posts.
All that said, I don't think he'll have the hammar, and I'm not sure if the weapon beneath the Menoa tree is a weapon like we may think. It may be a source of energy for him. Remember, when he was in the spot with Arya and first sensed the tree, he realized it was giving off more energy than anything else in the forest -- so the weapon may just be a source of energy, which he'll need since it seems as if Murtagh's evil magic has a way of harnessing more energy than Eragon's. Just a thought.

So *shrugs*. Just because Arya doesn't know about it doesn't mean it's not there. It's not like she dug up the tree and examined whatever might be there.

She may know something about it. And when they mean roots, they mean the family.

Nobody is gonna make a new sword. I think the elves got over swords when their latest ones gave way to the fall of the riders.

Yeah, when one of their one swords betrayed the others, they decided not to make another.

Not if she said it in the ancient language. Also, I'm fairly sure it was a direct statement, not a half - truth. Anyway, the weapon might not be under the Menoa tree at all. In the book, solembum says "Roots" which has more than one meaning, ie. origin.... just a thought.

Roots as in family roots, and the Linnea family has a sword so that's where he'll get his sword from.

I wasn't talking about Volund in the first place and that is a hammer and Eragon doesn't need a hammer, it would be too heavy. And I think the Linnea family will give him a sword.

i reckon eragon wont get volund(sorry i dunno how to spell it). i think the roots mean tree roots, not others. i dunno but thats my thought.

well what about broms sword maybe eragon can get it. It doesnt have to be volund.

I thought voland was a hammer. Then i think he could get Brom' sword or the sword he had in the tomb, but that would not be nice. Then he could get one from the elves.

Yeah I think he'll get it from the Linnea family that have it. Because the Linnea took Brom's sword and they may give it back to him. Then he'll get Brom's sword and I suppose that could be his inheritance.

for that to work they would have to exchange it under the tree.

But Linnea stood under the tree waiting for her husband so that could be why.

Roots should mean family roots, since under the roots of a tree sounds sorta dumb
