This might sound weird, but me, my friend and my cuz have the same theory, what if Galbby wasn't the vilian, but the elves? WHat if they put everyone under a spell. I think this because, the elves are training ppl t fight, but not fighting themselves, so why not? And Murtagh, he said, even before he was possesed that Gabby told him that he wanted to bring the riders back...idk, its just a random thought, Im not saying its true, i myself only believe it like...20%....yeah

well actully the elfs are going into battle.. remember eragon asks eragon why the elves arnt going to battle and oromis asks him if he hears the ringing of metal and so on.. so the elves are actully going into battle and remember the elf king was killed by galbatorix or one of the forsworn? so they have gone into battle an they are again

well it COULD be true i mean if u think bout it. in book 2 wen murtagh meets eragon murtagh sed that he only killed the riders cuz they were bein lazy and stuff and that he wanted to start it all over and bout the eggs u gatta expect him to try to catch eragon cuz both sides want him too and murtagh sed that his ideas were great and that eragon should really get to listen to them and stuff i donno but its just that wen i think bout it and read that one part its seems more possible i donno
