what do you think the magic, would look like in the movie. I think it will be a big part if it looks stupide then the movie won't be as good.

the technology of making a floating sphere is already there since Terminator II which is 10 years ago!! I think they'll just be fine... or at least I hope so...

I've seen the fox promotion Louis gave, it said they have a latest technology and visual effect team that worked on Lemony Snicket, Saving private ryan, master and commander, Sign, and the Perfect Storm!! I thought they're doing fine and we can hope for the best...

It will be amazing. Guys! Its 2006! lol. Everything is so digitally mastered at this point that it should look really good!, but I wish we could see all the magic in Eldest lol. There is so much more in that.

5 words: Green screens and computer animation.

With those, you can make anything seem real. With all of the technology available, people sitting at home on their computers can make realistic magic. Imagine what a fully-funded movie could do.

Of course, some spells in Eragon are pretty subtle, the killing spell doesn't have any rays of light. But you'll notice, especially when the shade's tossing around Garzjla at the beginning.

i think that the spells will look different to what people think.

the guy doing the graphics is good , i have seen films by him and he is one of the best so i think the magic specail effects will be alsome better the HP and LOTR's

Yeah- the guy doing the special effects did it for things like Saving Private Ryan, The Perfect Storm, Series of Unfortunate events- loads of stuff. I'm not sure about it being better than LOTR though- that won more special effects awards than I can count lol

but Eragon the movie might win more then LOTR

LOTR realy didnt have that much magic in it. just war and make-up.

the only magic it had was when gandalf and saruman fought (not counting all those times Gandalf used his staff to make light. plus when he used lightning to attack the Belrog.)

In the extended Two Towers, Saruman shots a fireball.

Hopefully the magic will be really good.

Tolkien didn't intend for much magic to be in The Lord of the Rings. The references to magic in his books are because he couldn't find another accurate word to replace it...I know all.

I wonder how they are going to show that eragon is getting into other peoples and animals mind.
I hpe that the way that they do it isnt all sci/fi like. That would screw it up since it is set in medival times. Not that im calling urgals nice but since reading that urgals teamed up with the varden for that battle in Eldest (SORRY ERAGON READERS THAT ARENT UP TO ELDEST! (hehehe ) ). I hope that they make them looks nicer than orcs in LOTR. Anyway i'd say that the way theyd make the magic is using some kind of way to alter the normal vewing by either putting a beam of light whateva colour (COLOR FOR ALL U AMERICANS OUT THERE! No i am not being racist and spelling-ist) or when they are levitating the pebble then they will ...wait i can explain it. Ever seen how the air goes all wiggly like when it is heated and what u see is a but screwed up? Yeh that wiggly stuff is probably what they are going to be using for levitating an other non-fighting skills. Either way whatever they use for magic graphics we know 1 thing: Eragons Gedwey Ignasia (Did I spell that right?) will shimmer. Thats one thing they never leave out. Cliches.....when will they end?

I think the magic right off the bat at the beginning of the movie is really going to blow them away for a start. The prolog is filled with it that is if that is how they start the movie. :S

Well, Brom said riders can use both hands, one with the mark & one without, so you don't need a shining palm to perform magic. It would just come from his hand i guess.

Brom also said that Riders preferred to channel magic from the hand or part of the body where the mark is.

well knowing that Industrial Light and Magic will be doing the special effects and stuff i am thinking the magic will look extremely awesome. but i have not a clue what it will look like. sometimes blue, red but whatever it looks like will be fine and like i said i am betting it will look better than harry potter and LOTR!

Really, I don't think you guys are giving this movie enough credit. They spent 1 million dollars and they have put a lot of time and effort into this movie. I think the magic will look extremelly neat and well done. If any of you has seen War of the Worlds or Star Wars then you'll know what I am talking about. Industrial Light and Magic is one of the best special effects company there is.

Didn't they also say that Weta stepped in too. I don't remember but did they?
