i like roran. i don't know about king, although he is clearly a good leader.
accually i think king would be a good thing. katrina will need some pampering after all this mess.

Roran is the only logical choice to take the throne. He comes from Palancar Valley where the royal bloodline of the Palancar Kingdom still flows. He won't be the next rider as to the fact the Varden and Surda would have to wait a year before he could be ready to fight. The only logical choice for the next Rider is Arya as she is a great in both the fields of magic and fighting. The only hold back for her is to learn a few secrets the Riders had that she dosen't know and for her dragon to reach a suitable size, which should only take a couple of months.

well back to the topic, i heard that roran dies in the process of saving Katrina. Its been a rumor throughout here and my school.

No way CP would kill Roran. It would ruin the love story between him and Katrina. Oromis who I think will be involved in the rescue will die though during it.

When Roran gave that compelling speech to the citizens of carvahall he described a a perfect empire. Perhaps CP gave a foreshadowing of what is to come under roran's rule. (if he is the new king)

If roran is the new king that would clear him up from being a rider. Giving the last egg to be given to arya or orik

My answer is no. I think he has the experience, the skill, the intelligence and the courage to lead his people but not to rule a whole empire or world. I rather think it would be too much for him and I don't think it's really what he wants either. And neither will Eragon in this case. I think it will be Nasuada who will rule Alagaesia. She is the most probable candidate in this and I think is more wiser than Roran. I don't think this is where Roran's destiny lies and I think there is more in store for him in the last book.

Wow long time since I've posted. Eragon won't be king. You can ask well, why and I'll answer, for him to be king he would have to rule through fear. The dwarves, Varden, Surda, and the Elves don't want another Rider-King(though I think CP will pull another LotR moment and have the Elves leave for their orginal homeland). For the humans it's and immortal ruler. The Dwarves don't want the riders to return anyways. The elves have never really like Eragon as a group, as Galbatorix was a human. No, I stand by Roran as the king with Eragon staying probably till the end of his reign and leaving Alagaesia for good.

More than likely, but not for awhile after the end of the book. No races will coexist without problems and not all leaders will look for a diplomatic ending to a conflict. The humans could stay split into two countries as to keep power from being to consolidated or might even split into several countries as with the fall of the Roman Empire. With the dwarves they will stay in their mountains they love and continue their clan wars and whatnot. The U'rgals will probably get land near the Spire or on the other side of the desert we'll see noone really thinks about them, but my opinon their time is over as they will lose to many rams in the upcoming war to ever recover and may follow what seems to be the elves lead and leave the land for where they once came from. How it all plays out we don't know but I do believe that Roran will be a king of some land wether all of humanity or just a small kingdom who knows.

Of all the people to become the leader only Nasuada has a better claim than Roran, so it will be down to CP to decide.
