What if Katrinas mother, that is Sloans wife, didn't die in the spine. He has no proof of that. It could also mean that Selena was her mother, which would set her up for her 'inheritance' of helping Eragon with the dragon quest...

And although it may make it weird that Roran plans to marry into his own family. It would'nt be against the laws, as it Roran and Katrina aren't imeediately related.

Agree with crazy about katrina's mother, however about the 3rd rider, i dont care about the tops, a new character is veryvery unlikely in my opinion, because CP creater Eragon as he was him, like it is really CP going through all the adventure, wouldnt believe he would create another character to steal eragon the protagonism... the green dragon will help, im pretty sure that CP was smart enough to not make Eragon beat 3 dragon ridders all together, he will help but Eragon will make it, Roran would make a great 3rd dragon rider, but how in hell will him get near the egg? Roran will be the 'imortal' warrior that fights for love, Eragon will teach him and suddently he will be able to cast magic and to fight just like a rider.... My guess is that katrina will be the last rider and that she will die, like in the last fight giving all her power to Eragon, she will sacrice herself.. Or Roran does the same or becomes king of Alagaesia. too crazy?

Scarecrow, I don't know how to tell you this, but the only people who think that Roran will be the next rider are people who really like his character. There are many people who are not so enchanted with Arya's character (I think that they are crazy for that) but they think that she will be the next rider. Roran has none of that. It's just that ur a Roran fanatic, so you think that he will be the next rider.

i am, but that is only my motivation. ALL the people who believe you which i have talked to are diehard Roran fans. ALL of them. They would believe that he was going to be the next rider even if CP went to a press conference and said that he WASN'T going to be the next rider! They'd think that he was joking. on the other hand, I would imediately adopt that into my theories and change them accordingly.

Same goes for you if CP said Arya wasn't the next rider, you'd still believe Arya is going to be the next rider. And guess what you're a diehard Arya fan so all the people who agree with you only hope she is because they want Arya and Eragon to hook up. that is what i HAVE said in the past, but AnnieB made me realize that CP propbably wouldn't do that. that or it wouldn't be the first move. I think that her getting Greenie will make her open up to her feelings which she is blind to as of now. That or she will just grow to love Eragon and her friendship will grow into love. I actually would prefer the first one, but there were no signs of her having feelings for him, so they are both as valid as the other.

That's kind of a reason why I don't believe she is right for the job because most of them believe in that one reason. I believe Roran is worthy.

katrina has zero chance of being the next rider. 1st shes a human, and not just a human but a weak one. can u imagine her trying to train for fights or learning magic? it would take her years before she even got to where eragon waz at the end of the 1st book. since it would take her so long, she cant b the rider because they dnt have the time to give her all the training she needs. in fact, they dnt have the time to train any human really, meaning the only other person it could b would b an elf. they are already strong and would b a strong rider in no time. and who will that elf b? arya most likely

There are 2 reasons y i dont think that arya will be a rider....she's about 70 years old, and although that's not old for elves...i also think that, since she is so old, she would have touched mostly all the eggs(if not all) before galbatorix stole them

Did any of you read all of Eldest? Brom is not Eragons father, morzan is. And his brother is murtagh! Also, Sloan is not Married to Selana, because she died because she had been secretly pregnant and hid Eragon after seeing what morzan did to murtagh. Also, Brom stole morzans sword. So since Eragon has that sword, he does have his fathers, but Murtagh dosn't! Read the book! Then you'll even know the truth about what happened to the twins!!!!!!!!!!!!
