Probably not, the only major character to die was the dwarf king Hrathgar, he was cool. But I think she is going to live.

hmm... here's a possibility:

eragon is fighting galby and ayra is helping, when she's yelling at eragon to get back, galby stabs ayra in a lethal area (doesn't matter where) and while galby's sword is plunged in one of the deadly spots to be stabbed in, eragon kills galby?

I like my sniper idea better but that could work

Now I know this seems cruel but, Brom needed to die, CP needed room for Murtagh. If Brom had lived he probably would have recognized "Morzans' " traits in Murtagh, thus, Eragon would would have probably gone with Brom to the Varden which would screw the whole story up. Brom also needed to make room for Oromis, Eragon's current instructor.
There is no need for Arya to die. It would only cause much grief for the elves, Eragon, and the Varden. It would also weaken Eragon and he wouldn't stand even the slightest chance against Galby. Besides, Arya holds many secrets which I believe will be released through out the book.

Much as I dislike Ayra, I have to acknowledge you are completely in the right. The storyline would have had absolutely no sense or further development. If it were not a "series" or just "a stand alone book" then keeping Brom alive would have worked.

yeah i know, i don't feel as motivated as i did before, i was wanting to join the dragon riders SO bad, and, now that i'm in, i see no use to get on as often
