Orik is most likely and I dont ERagon will cus he didnt want to be King of Alageasia so i dont think he would want to rule a clan of the dwarves even if he CAN

ya eragon wont be king cuz like what Hadarac said.. he didnt want to be kind of Alageasia.. also orik was the kings.. kinda son/ nephew so i think it will be him that is king

if its any of them it could be any other dwarf

it probably will be from a different clan, seeing how unhappy many dwarves were with wrothgar(horrid spelling)

I doubt that a different clan will rule durmguist engnitem that would be outragous to the whole clan

you forget, hrothgar was the DWARF king not the clan king, so the next king could be from any clan

I thought Hrothgar felt him as his own son, just like Orik felt Hrothgar like his own father.
Being around with a mighty king like Hrothgar since Orik was a kid (?) must be gave some great influence to Orik and I believe he learned lots of leadership and ruling things from Hrothgar..

Eragon? He's too busy to be everywhere at the same time. Varden (Nasuada), Murtagh's mystery (trivia: why/how/what now, etc), Roran (Katrina), his unfinished-lesson (Ellesmera).. I wont expect him to be a leader of a dwarven clan.

Eregon also wouldnt become the ruler of the dwarf clan mostlikely because it would outrage everyone most likely even dwarves outside of the clan... Eregon may be a member of durmgrims ingneitum but he is still not a dwarf

Eregon does not want a leadership position and it just is unlikely that he would be king

being part of the clan is just more of a formality for Eragon

I dont think the dwarf king will be fighting a long side with Eregon like he would if he wasn't. They will be far away from eachother. And being a king will limit the time he could spend with Eregon on a friend basis substantially

Thats horrible! The Dwarfs are the bones of Alageasia! They were here before the dragons and Alageasia would crumble with out them

I dont think CP would do such a uncalled for thing upon the elves nowing they have been throughout the whole book and are important in the series

not now there not, its the elves who are important, i think something like galby coming to the beors and killing all the dwarves would be a nice surprise

Back on target, The king WONT be Eragon. It may be Orik, then again, it may be another dwarf all together!

They are just guards. I get your point, and it can be anyone. It very well may be Orik. There is, however the distinct possibility that it will be someone we don't know at all.

I was thinking that the Durgrimst Quan probably hold a lot of power in the chosing of the new king.

although the possibility of any dwarf being the new leader is endless I am gonna guess that it will be orik

i though that only one of the current kings could become leader of all the dwarves but any body in
durgrimst could become the leader of that clan

The king is the leader of the dwarves. He is elected from all of the drarves by the clan chiefs.

Gannel is a clan chief and is already a Quan. he has other duties he has to fufill, like talking to thin air for help, and feeling the life in granite.

wasnt Hrothgar the clan chief of Durgrimst Igneitum anyway, so that will screw up the election. And didnt alot of the dwarves hate Orik so if they hated him dont you think that would completly screw up his chances of being elected new king.

they never said who the clan chief is but when you think about he is from durmgrimst Ingneitum and he is the King of the dwarves so he probably would be the clan chief of the clan, unless there is a rule about the king not being clan chief.

P.S even if he wasnt clan chief he was king which kind of makes him clan chief of ever clan

it probably works the same way the Varden's council works; It is dangerous for one of them to put him/herself above the rest.

Maybe CP wants there to be more Dwarven opposition. Orik would be totally FOR Eragon. So it really comes down to if CP wants Dwarven opposition or not.

There will be too much happening with everbody and there will be tons of battles, most likly, and Cp has so much left to explain and to tell in this final book...I fear that there will hardly be room for this...and I doubt a clan war will be of importance or very prominant in the last book as well.

He is Hrothgar's heir, but not to the throne. First the Durgrimst Ingentium has to elect it's chief, then the chiefs will pick from among themselves. So if Orik is to become king, he would have to win 2 elections!!!

Yeah I doubt they would have Eragon as their leader....and there is the fact that he is taking on characteristics of an elf as well. So would they have a human/ sort of elf take charge? Nah..like you said I don't think they would have it.

He is his heir, so he gets Hrothgar's property. He's not heir to the throne. There's a difference!

It depends. If CP wants there to be support from the dwarves, then Orik is a good choice. If not, then it will be someone different.

FOR THE LAST TIME HE IS NOT HEIR TO THE THRONE!!! He is Hrothgar's heir. There is a difference. IF and ONLY IF he becomes the Grimsborith of the Durgrimst Ingentium will he have a CHANCE of becoming King. The king is picked from among the Grimsborith.
