so he hasn't been a king for a long time. Why is he called a king if he rules an empire, not a kingdom. He would be an emperor then.

I mean, if your immortal, there could be a ruler for over a thousand years, so it hasn't been a long time. Only a couple of generations since he bace king

was Galbatorix a human rider? Or an elven rider? That would probably make them understand the long ruling part, but even if he did undergo the change, he is still part human. There has to be a way to defeat him, like use his own flaws against him.

Brom said that the riders who were human eventually started to look like an elf, but wasn't exactly one of them. If eragon started changing a few months after being a rider, then galby must have completely changed.

The book never said that if a rider dies, his dragon does. That was just in the movie. Saphira will live if eragon is killed, even if she is still in her body. She dosen't have to transfer into her HoH.

Glaedr lived, even after oromis was killed. He still fought, but he was killed shortly after by Murtagh, not because Oromis died. And plus, if a dragon died when his rider did, their eldunari would break. They didn't so they can live on.

Dragons can outlive their Riders, whether in their bodies or their HoH. Go to the part in Brisingr where Glaedr is explaining the Eldunari to Saphira and Eragon, it says it specifically somewhere in that part.

If the rider dies, the dragon will live on. They won't die with their riders. That's just something the director of the movie made up. It's not true. Not to CP.

I believe that Glaedr said that their minds and souls are still connected to their bodies, even if they've disgorged their Eldunari.

I don't think she disgorged it, but I definitely think she transferred.

Well, at least you dont have to disgorge it if you transfer. Maybe she was thinking about it, but changed her mind afterwards.

brom also said the future is not set in stone. (those aren't the exact words) and he's also sceptical about them in the movie too. (but try not to bace things on the movie. It wasn't acurate...)

it could have been a hoax set up by someone. Maybe galbatorix is controling her, and letting her damage some of his troops just to pretend that she's on their side.

And remember what she said about him leaving Alagaesia forever? Then there were those three people in Brisingr that wished that very same fate onto him.

Saphira would probably disgorge her Eldunari if she and Eragon were going to have to be separated for long periods of time again.

That's what I was thinking too. If eragon has to leave alagaesia and leave Saphira behind to have chicks or something, then she would probably give him her HoH so that they could be together even if they are apart. That would be so sad, though.

I can't see Eragon leaving Saphira behind for any reason, and that contradicts that dream he had where he saw the two dragons flying overhead. (He had that dream in the first book, can't remember exactly where though...)

What if the people beyond the sea don't believe in dragons, or he loses his ability to use magic? He would lose his contact with Saphira and they wouldn't be able to talk to eachother anymore and saphira would be all alone for she has no one.

Yeah, and even if he did lose his ability to use magic, he doesn't need to be able to use magic to talk with his mind. And his soul is melded with Saphira's so completely that even if he couldn't talk mind-to-mind with anybody else, he would still be able to with her. (Unless he's drugged, like he was in Gil'ead.)

Maybe something will cause him to lose his magic, or maybe the people in the other lands have dragons and saphira will finally find the love of her life.

i think that is a good opinion, or they (the other people in the land) dont get along with dragons and they kill them then what??? cus the elves in that land (the one that eragon is in that i cant spell) are the one who started the dragon bond thing and it only stayed in that area cuz in the history there is no writing about any one leaving!!!!

I don't think it's possible for him to lose the ability to use magic, unless you mean where he would only be able to control small spells, like Oromis. And that only happened to him because he was tortured.

Maybe the land across the sea has dragons, but they don't have bonds with them like the humans and elves do in Alagaesia.

Lol, now that would be interesting. One question though, what exactly is a roc? I know what a griffin is, and most other mythological creatures, but I don't think I've heard of that one.

She would need to know her true name to open it.

We don't know that for sure, we know that for Eragon, but it might not be like that for dragons. The location of the VoS could be in one of her instinctive memories. It's also entirely possible that it's one of those things Brom told her.

lol we were talking about her transferring into her eldunari so that eragon could leave alagaesia and still be with her if she cant leave and the other land might have creatures like phoenixes or the roc birds or other kinds of massive creatures. Its kinda complicated.

Well, they dont have to have magic to be amythical creature. Just out of the ordinary like the roc. It has no powers, and can't even fly, but its considered a mythical creature. Just my opinion.
