When galbotorix stoll shruken they killed the rider. And dident C.P. say that when a rider is killed then his dragon will die to.

I think shruken will live.

well actully you mite be right on one hand glaby forced his 2nd dragon to be his so it is posible that they are not linked as much and mite actully live if Galby dies but it also depends how C.P. desides to put it

Actually your question gave me another one i might of overlooked though. Since Galby did kill Shruikan's first rider wouldn't that kill Shruikan when his first rider died? Or did I miss something? Correct me if so!

I think shriekin would be ok once hes freed and i hope he does live becoz its not fair on him reli.
And if a rider dies sometimes there dragon does live like if a dragon dies the rider will live.

Galbatorix and Shruiken possibly couldn't have the same relationship and connection as Saphira and Eragon. So, if Galbatorix could die and Shruiken could live. I even heard that Shruiken may kill Galbatorix.

i think he will die. and i have no idea how shruikan lived when his first rider was killed.

i think shruken will be freed/die i also think he is not evil at heart and he is only black because of the magic connecting them and the magic keeping him alive with out his first rider.

caterpillar!! If Oromis said they killed him (Morzan and Galby) then more than likely he's dead because they more than likely found a body, recognized the Rider, noticed their dragon was missing and put 2 & 2 together.

well.... i just thought of how orks were made in middle earth. they were elves once but tortured and mutilated into the most foul creachers on middle earth. maybe gaby caught him and mutilated and turned him into some thing? or it could be like the book the golden compass and he got a sword that cut through the connection between the man and his dragon. and then enslaved him.

I still say that his original Rider is dead. Otherwise he would be able to sense him. And if he could sense his Rider, he would know that he wouldn't have to consent to let Galby riding him, black magic or not. A dragon and his Rider's bond goes far deeper than any magic. That's how the elves designed it to be. So, no matter what Galby tried to make it where Shruikan couldn't sense his Rider, he would always be able to.

Think about it this way, aurora jean. If his Rider is still alive, when Galby dies and Shruikan is released from the dark magic, who knows what will have happened to his mind in the years Galby had him. He could have been driven to madness by Galby not allowing him to suicide. It would be a kinder fate for him if his Rider is dead. He wouldn't have to suffer anymore.

Shruikan is going to die. Galbatorix has to live, otherwise CP wouldn't have any good things to write about. It would make it easier for CP to write further Alagaesia tales if he let Galbatorix live. But Shruikan is going to die, without a doubt.

If Shruikan dies, then more than likely Galby will lose it and kill his evil self, because he more than likely won't be able to stand losing another dragon. And besides, if Shruikan dies, nobody will be afraid of Galby anymore. The only reason they haven't done something by now is that they're probably afraid that he'll feed them to his dragon or burn their farms down.

That is a little far-fetched. It is an interesting theory, though, and would be pretty cool.

Personally i believe that shruikan will kill galby right before galby kills eragon. He is mad at galby for killing his rider and is only waiting for his chance to strike. Furthermore i think that he is good and that he will father the dragons by Saphira. this would be a cool twist and avery interesting piece of the puzzle. although i am unsure how the varden and the rest of the liberated country will act towards him and by extension Saphira's offspring.

he didnt say that they die he said that if one died the other usualy went mad and killed them selves. but some like brom and galby manage to survive but did however go mad for a time.

shruican live or die depends on: if he is fond of galby, if galby has his true name, if he is bound by the AL not to harm galby. if these havent happened id say LIVE

I think he will die, there is no place left for him anymore, his real rider was killed, he was forced to serve Galbatorix, everyone hates him. Even though it wasn't his fault, he can't have a entirely happy ending now.
A thought just occurred to me, what about his Heart of Hearts? is it still in him, or does Galbatorix have it?

Galby probably stole it. I kind of feel bad for Shruiken. I mean, Galby wasn't supposed to be his rider, so he probably feels like he'll be a slave for the rest of his life. Poor Shruiken.

i believe will live when Eragon finally kills Galbatorix, but i also believe that he will commit suicide because of everything he was forced to do when he was under Galbatorix's control

i think galby will commit suicide or something. Galby dies and shruikan lives since the black magic will leave. Then he still alive but he has no purpose in the world since his original rider is dead.

in the thread, book 4 theories, i mention that i think Galb will kill himself, on accident, read the thread if you want to, it is really short. if my theory proves correct then there won't be any reason for Shruken to live so he'll either commit suicide of go into isolation.

Another theory could be that, if Arya doesn't get the new dragon, then Shruken would become her dragon, of his own free will of course. what do you think of that?

thats a good idea... but to be connected, wouldnt arya have to have touched shruikan as a hatchling or use black magic like galby (and i dont think she would do that)?

they could go not connected. i'm sure the elves could come up with a spell so that they can communicate like everyone else. they'd just be kinda like a person and their dog, except a dragon
